Again....the people you speak to on the phone are call center agents. They are NOT immigration officers. I know it's annoying, but you can't expect consistent, accurate information from call center agents. They will even tell you on the phone they don't have all the information.

The whole online thing though I do agree is ridiculous. It should be much more sophisticated.
If the call center is Embassy Call Center then they should be aware of their office works. They should have their own CRM similar software so they know what is going on in their office. It's an embassy, not a cow farm and the helpline support is not a phone operator support center, that they will be clueless. We were specific, Damn specific in our application forms. Provided our forefather's info, so they should also be specific about our files too. Its not like that they are doing any favor, we paid for the service in advance.

About their online service, I didn't mean I should be more complicated. What I meant is, how do they put a software like that online without doing beta testing!! They have put the e-service software live for all of us so that most can suffer and they will get to know about their software bugs. Get it? We are just some beta testers. Most software companies have salaried beta testers and we are doing it free for Canadian Embassy!!
I see some peoples here in the forum is so confused about the online service and I don't blame them coz it's not their fault coz most of us are not familiar with this kind of software errors.

THEY JUST DON"T CARE BECAUSE YOU DON"T HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION AND THEY KNOW IT.

I'm may 16 applicant and no AOR yet. I know your frustration, driving nuts :(
I am in the same boat as you, Kdd25, abhi1811, rosettebarrera, zhey616.
Application received May 16, got the SMS confirmation and Canadapost confirmation, yet no AOR till now!

I am reluctant to calling them because I know the call center agent won't have any information to help and that they just have general generic information for everyone. I sent them an e-mail, hoping that the person who will respond to this e-mail is an IRCC officer not a call center agent.

I understand and I work in IT, so yes, I get what you're saying but my personal experience has not been that they don't care. I am sorry you've had this experience and it's not acceptable and not part of Canadian values. I hope things move forward more efficiently for you in the future. Good luck.

I have just talked to an agent really helpful he said that our application was not in the system yet and should call back within 3 to 4 days. The other thing he told me is that we will not receive AOR through email if the application was paper based and that we will receive a letter. He also mentioned that we will receive an email once processing starts. I think he is talking about the AOR. They are still working on May 19 applications.

So unless this recently changed this makes no sense and may display the inconsistency of information. If the application is paper based? You have to mail in spousal applications. Is that what he means? AOR always comes by email from every case I've seen. Am I misintrepreting what you mean??

But if they are working on may 19, what happened with the other apps before that date. Because no AOR yet.

As I said above AOR doesn't go in a perfect order by date. It comes out of order for many people i.e., some people who applied after you get it first etc. It doesn't mean you won't get it :D

I think what he meant is that you will not receive email stating that we received the application instead you will receive a letter. You will receive the AOR through email

sammy143 you are misinformed like me I guess. There will be no letter!! What you wanted to know is AOR and the agent gave your wrong info.

That is funny coz when I called the lady asked me over the phone which visa I have applied for? I told her Spouse Visa, then she said we don't have spouse visa!! WHAT!! Seriously!??

Then I explained to her what is spouse visa, then she told that, so you are applying for your wife.....!!!!!! What!!??? Then I told her "I am applying for my husband"....

So these are the peoples they hired to help us?
