I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father while you've been away! My aunt was diagnosed with cancer just after I applied, and passed away a few months back. That was hard for me. But I can only imagine losing your dad. I hope you're nearing the end of this process! It helps to know other folks are in a similar boat hoping for the same outcome. If you ever need a sounding board feel free to email/message me too!I understand and feel the struggle. Overwhelming is the perfect word, no one understands, other than those going through it. I too lean on my husband for support, he tells me dont worry, everything will work out and be ok. But he takes it personally too, like he isnt doing enough, when after all what more can he do but sit and wait.
It is hard thats for sure, in my situation, my license has lapsed and until Ill get the temp perm res card, I cant drive. On top of all that, my father passed away 2 months ago and I couldnt go back, luckily my mother has my brothers and my oldest daughter there for support. Family has visited, but its just not the same as going home and seeing everyone at once. Looking forward to when I can cuddle my grand-babies in person, instead of seeing them via pictures, calls and Skype.
If you ever need to just get things out, mail me, Im a good listener, maybe we could commiserate together Best of luck to you in this journey of wait and see.
tried that...told me I didnt have enough proof of residency, they want 1 of the following:
Proof of Legal Presence and Primary
I have a valid passport, but it wasnt stamped when I came through, no work permit, cuz I dont work, no need to.
- Valid Foreign Passport with appropriate immigration documents
- Permanent Resident Card or Immigration papers – Record of Landing
- Study or Work Permit
- Canadian Citizenship Card
- Temporary Resident Permit
- Secure Certificate of Indian Status Card (with photograph)
- Valid Canadian Passport
They said to come back when I have the TRP.
Ive come this far, I can wait a bit more, lol
guess there are lots of us, early April 2016 applicant here too, still waiting for any email or word, SA changed to DM a while back but no emails and no other news or changes since, it is like they threw all of our applications in a pile in the corner somewhere and decided to let a bunch of other months jump the queue insteadsame feelings here. I am April 1 applicant.
#WelcomeToCanada.Oh man! That's a bummer. What if you provided her a copy of the reciept for payment of application for permanent residency?
I was surprised I could just switch my license over. When I called the office I told them I didn't have any mail handy that day to prove my address, but could stop in the next day. The woman was so cheery! She said "honey, this is Nova Scotia, I believe you. Just come down". Say what?!
Thank you so much. They all are waiting for me to come back for a visit to scatter his ashes, gonna be hard going through it 2x for my Mom., every day she asks "any news yet", I want so much to tell her yes, its done.I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your father while you've been away! Inland applicants get their CoPR (confirmation of permanent residence) at the landing interview. You will need to bring photos for this landing interview and they will be used for your PR card. They will apply for you and you will receive it in the mail about 8 weeks later.Dear friends

Yes, it is a relief, but don't worry, your turn will come. The most difficult part during the process is that we don't know at all when they will finally start to work on our application. But, do you have any doubts about the end results? You shouldn't have, so it's really just a matter of (long, sometimes not predictable, uncontrollable,...) time. But just live your normal life, don't let the process affect your everyday life. The anxious moments experienced so far from this pr journey appears to be the longest in my entire life. Landed guys must be heaving a huge sigh of relief and gulping down Labatt Ice glass after glass.
Dear friendThank you
