For the folks who were asked to provide fingerprints and now have the background check completed, how long did this process take you?
I have my FP collected on Feb 27, RCMP sent out the result to the Vancouver office on Mar 4. But I am still waiting.. ;'(

Hey bud. I gave my FP on Feb 14th. RCMP mailed them out on Feb 21st and IRCC completed my BG check on March 8th. I hope this helps.

I legitimately can’t even tell anymore if people are joking/messing with others or if they are actually that much lacking fundamental basic intelligence and critical thinking. What makes it more confusing is those same people lacking all that simultaneously think they know absolutely everything, including everyone’s personal business, motives and feelings.

I have question. I see many folks have updated the processing office. How do we find the processing office for the citizenship case ? Also I would like to ask , does processing office has anything to do with the processing timeline ? I mean I belive all applications will be handled in the same sequence as they have submitted.

I think there is something called as a primary office that also does lpp (this could be different from test office or local office) - if one happens to ask the call center, they usually know. Theories aside, each office has their practical workload,

Complex cases take a very long time. How can it possibly be FIFO?

The above is just my understanding, obviously they don't make anything public, maybe for a good reason.

But how do I know , which primary office is allocated to my case. Also does it matter at all ? I mean once application is submitted its going to take its own time based on procedural statges.

Exactly, if you aren't curious it doesnt matter at all, hopefully by 9 months you will know where things stand. Some folks just want to know everything thats going on (this doesn't speed anything).

my ick is that, so when we applied, the timeline is 7 months, now is 9 months. Lets say if they increase it again, does that mean our processing time is also increasing???
I was so naively hoping I can plan my summer trip without a visa consideration.

Thats my question, because sometimes IRCC is telling those who applied before the changes in timeline will not be afftected, will have the same timeline when they applied, only those who applied after the changes has been announced will have this timeline...isnt it supposed to be like that? sorry im just stupid or silly to ask or comment like this...just wondering.

There's text on how the time is calculated here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html
The relevant text is: "This processing time is how long we expect it will take us to process an application if we receive it today." and "It may vary depending on how many applications we get or if your application is complex."
So, its their "expectation", and not a guarantee. Also, the expectation is for processing applications if they receive it today.

I've found ATIP notes to be useful in getting an in-depth view of my application. Then again, that was for PR application(s) (mine and my friends'; I am not an immigration attorney). But I expect the level of information to be the same.

I got the FP request Feb 13th, and had fingerprints taken at Vancouver PD Feb 24th. Background shows completed March 11th and that reflected in the tracker on March 13th.
