These are very wise words.Agreed, we have to play the hand we're dealt. My initial PR was pretty smooth (besides having to give fingerprints 1 billion times), but my PR renewal took almost 10 months at a time when their website showed a constantly updating average of anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months. All of my calls and web form submissions came to nothing (you just have to wait), and the PR portal is a joke. To this day it says "Submitted March 18th 2024, last updated March 18th 2024". I'm sorry for everything you went through, that sounds like a nightmare.
Being able to compare timelines is awesome, but seeing how fast everyone else is going can be a little bit stressful and starts to make you worry unnecessarily when you are behind them.
I am just happy the citizenship process overall seems to be faster than it was in the past.
by any chance did you asked what office is doing the LPP?I just got off the phone with IRCC and they said my application is progressing along. Nothing opening or missing or seems on hold. And my LPP has not started yet. So it is definitely a good idea to continue to exercise patience.
I have no idea where LPP was done. I never called them since the processing was fairly on time.Congrats. Quick question was LPP done by Vancouver office in your case? Had you ever asked them before where LPP was being processed for Calgary?
Same here. She said my LPP hasn’t been even touched yet which sucks.I just got off the phone with IRCC and they said my application is progressing along. Nothing opening or missing or seems on hold. And my LPP has not started yet. So it is definitely a good idea to continue to exercise patience.
OMG WHAT THEY ARE DOING...I just got off the phone with IRCC and they said my application is progressing along. Nothing open or missing or seems on hold. And my LPP has not started yet. So it is definitely a good idea to continue to exercise patience.
Nothing. Which is unfortunately normal. Most of the time one’s application takes to process is actually spent in the queue where there is absolutely nothing being done on your application. Its just parked until an officer picks it up again.OMG WHAT THEY ARE DOING...
That is what stressed me out, what if the officer just forgets about it? according to IRCC, the processing is 9 months now, so technically they can wait for another 6 months to pick it up again...Nothing. Yep. When I called today the agent pretty much indirectly said that same thing to me. It was heartbreaking to hearThat is what stressed me out, what if the officer just forgets about it? according to IRCC, the processing is 9 months now, so technically they can wait for another 6 months to pick it up again...
yeah when I called yesterday and the agent was like all we need to do is wait, he actually said those to me.Yep. When I called today the agent pretty much indirectly said that same thing to me. It was heartbreaking to hear![]()
plus everyone needs a spring breakyeah when I called yesterday and the agent was like all we need to do is wait, he actually said those to me.
I have feeling that IRCC is intentionally slowing down. I guess they dont want to overwhelm themselves
Or the IRCC leadership is trying to make a point that the layoffs will be catastrophic by slowing things down to get noticed and receive more headcount.plus everyone needs a spring break
why I have a feeling that all our files are with the same officer, lol.Or the IRCC leadership is trying to make a point that the layoffs will be catastrophic by slowing things down to get noticed and receive more headcount.
And think about it, Canada is already generous with how short a PR must wait to apply for citizenship, they don't want to appear too easy or eager to welcome citizens. But Canada has the easiest immigration laws to be honest. You can immigrate and become a citizen within the first 5 years of moving here. Try doing that in any other country?
all are waiting for LPP and they all appear to be in Vancouver (my guess based on what I have seen), I get a feeling they work in batches...why I have a feeling that all our files are with the same officer, lol.
