hello can you guide me how do we know the status of our case like it is complex or less complex etc...Thank you very much for your response!
hello can you please guide how do we know about status of our case like this is complex or less complex etc... because I only know that I applied via lawyer and i have only irccc portal access where no updates after receiving work permit.and lawyer is not guiding about complex less complex.he only says wait for 1 year after getting your work permitA “less complex case” in a letter from the Refugee Board of Canada indicates that your refugee claim is considered straightforward and may not require a full hearing. The Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) uses two processes for these types of claims:
This approach helps the IRB allocate resources efficiently and resolve cases more quickly. If your case is deemed less complex, it generally means that the evidence and circumstances are clear enough to make a decision without extensive proceedings1.
- Short-Hearing Process: This involves a brief hearing because the case does not present complex legal or factual issues.
- File-Review Process: In some cases, the IRB can decide on the claim based on the documents submitted, without needing a hearing12.
Hi, the IRB will let you know once they have had a chance to review your file and you know about that.hello can you please guide how do we know about status of our case like this is complex or less complex etc... because I only know that I applied via lawyer and i have only irccc portal access where no updates after receiving work permit.and lawyer is not guiding about complex less complex.he only says wait for 1 year after getting your work permit
Thank you for reply, actually i am confused after reading some post here,Hi, the IRB will let you know once they have had a chance to review your file and you know about that.
The IRB portal is for lawyers. the IRCC postal won't show anything about IRB for the most part. You can call IRB but they don't like that either, they told me to stop calling them after calling a few times.Thank you for reply, actually i am confused after reading some post here,
My timeline is
26.4.2024 claim applied inland Edmonton
10.5.2024 medical
22.5.2024 biomatric nd work permit received and case refered to RPD IRB.
20.8.2024 background check completed
This is only information i have because I have access to my ircc portal.
I don't know about story or BOC or anything else.my consultant didn't share anything except saying wait for 1 year after biomatric.now it's been 9 month and a lawyer mailed me that you have hired us as retainer,we confirm that your files have been added to our IRB portal .my consultant stopped me to reply them and told let them do their work, it's a formality email.
So what is your files added to our IRB portal?
Can I also access IRB portal?
I tried to use ircc portal credentials but didn't works.
What should I do further?
Assume you were told that there are around 250k applications waiting to be processed so there is nothing they can tell you but your file is in the queue. They have no idea when you may actually get processed/get a hearing so there is no point in calling them frequently. Waiting times for hearing are going to surpass 2 years for many. The IRB portal is for lawyers. the IRCC postal won't show anything about IRB for the most part. Don’t think you are aware how large a backlog exists in the system. You would be considered a relatively new claimant and may have quite a long wait ahead of you and there is nothing you can do about it.Thank you for reply, actually i am confused after reading some post here,
