I got the hearing in January 2025. I recommend everyone to find a lawyer. I mean reliable. I was about to give up because I waited for 17 months, but after I found a lawyer, I found that a lot of information was wrong or missing. And they won't tell you but the lawyers can see

The big issue with you file is that if your wife is a German citizen so you have a pathway to safe country. Why did she not just sponsor you?

There is a backlog of 250k asylum claims while Canada has the ability to process closer to 50k a year. People needing a hearing will face much longer processing times than a few years ago. Hopefully the planned asylum reforms that were supposed to be announced in December will come in January since the system is no longer effective and costs associated with with asylum seekers, protected people and refugees have ballooned to crazy levels.

Not announce yet.they ssk about prrof of residency in previous country.when you recieve that letter ?and do they ask about that residency proof from you ?
