If you have the courier no, you can check it on Purolator site to see where you can collect it from.

Hi guys, applied for surrender certificate one month back and still the status says Ready for collection for last 2 weeks. Called BLS and they said you will receive an email in 48 hours but no email yet and the status still reads the same.

Is anyone else facing this long a delay to get surrender certificate?

Also, can we apply for OCI without surrender certificate?

Did you pay for courier?
Ready for collection means you can go to BLS and collect it.

You cannot apply for OCI without surrender certificate.

We have paid for the courier. I have the transaction number. Have been trying call them but no one picks.

They might have wrongly marked it as for in person collection.

I applied for Surrender certificate on August 16 at BLS Surrey. Its already been 4 weeks and still says processing at Consulate. Should I contact them or just wait for it.

It's ~6-8 weeks of processing time there. Contacting them won't help at this stage.

I am planning to send my application in mail. For that, I called BLS and I received the payment link. In which I can see the dummy passport number like ABCD1234. Can I change this passport number after payment or what should I do ? Any idea so same experience ?

for anyone who submitted under Toronto jurisdiction. The checklist link does not open a checklist anymore, just instructions on how to apply and written information (no fields to tick mark)

is this the checklist I need to send with my application?

Because for other jurisdictions they have the tick mark checklist.
