Quebec PTRQ: PR Application Progress and Marriage: Seeking Advice on Spouse Inclusion

Hello,

I'm reaching the final stages of my Permanent Residency (PR) application process, which has included steps like CSQ, ITA, Biometrics, and completing Medical exams. I've been going through the Quebec skilled worker program.

However, there's a new development - I'll be getting married in just three months, and I anticipate that my visa might be approved before the wedding.

With this in mind, I have a few concerns and I'm hopeful you can provide some clarity:

1. Will my visa still be valid after I get married?

2. If I decide to include my wife in my application, does she also need to go through the CSQ process? (It's important to note that she doesn't speak French and doesn't have an IELTS certificate. How could this situation be managed?)

3. My current plan is to receive my visa, proceed with the wedding, and then travel to Canada. I'm considering sponsoring her at a later stage.

Your guidance on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

1. No.
2. Yes. You can add her as dependent and choose to accompany you or not accompanying (will need to sponsor her later). But she needs to have all the forms filled, medical, background, security, police checked regardless.
3. Sure yes. But only if the wedding is after your landed (virtual or actual physically land as PR)

Thank you for your response.

Please, would you mind giving me more details about what you mean by "Virtual" in the last response?

Also, I've just spoken with the MIFI and they said as far as you keep IRCC updated about your situation, your visa will still be valid. So I am a little bit confused now (because your answer says the opposite)

Maybe it's quebec specific. But as far as I know, if you get issued CORP as single, you cannot land with it after you got married.
Virtual landing process is for people who are getting their PR when they are already physcially in Canada. So they do not need to travel across the border to complete their landing.
