As a OINP applicant myself, I waited 3-4 months without an CEC ITA, stuck 2 points below the ITA levels and I was approaching age reduction of further 10 points in July and I choose to go with OINP. I would advice otherwise I'm bitter now, both on
- Ontario evaluation timeline taken it is about 100-140 days nowadays, and even worse I hate
- the PNP application processing timeline IRCC takes - 10 months (when most CEC can demand 4 months, most FSW seem to be getting processed even faster these days).
Hence my suggestion is If you can wait it out avoid it if you are only 4-5 points away from regular CEC/FSW ITA.
But to avoid regrets later, you can collect all the documents since you need them for your ITA also any way, upload them into the OINP portal etc.. and however delay paying your fees until the 43 or 44th day of NOI. Hopefully you get a FSW/CEC ITA by then. Say you didn't get ITA and hence apply OINP, if you get an ITA in the next 30-4O days of the OINP application and assuming OINP has still not processed your documents you can ask them for a refund. OINP doesn't touch application for at-least for a month these days. Think and decide for yourself good luck

Got an oinp invitation at 479. Also have a quebec nomination from 22nd June draw. Planning to start collecting all docs while also waiting for STEM draw.
Doubtful about tomorrow, but definitely next week. Tue, Wed and Thu are the draw days.
In this case they should conduct another No Program Specified draw first, to remove all PNP candidates and do not spend STEM invites to folks with 600+ CRS...
yes the 600 points for PNP is meaning less and sounds stupid when the cutoff itself is 486.
