What is even more interesting is that they are rejecting people during the strike but not approving anyone. I haven't seen anyone get a PPR during the strike. While poor @omarkh17 got rejected on April 25th o_O
There are some people getting their portal email, but I cannot say that like a "wave", only a few lucky guys.

PCCs and other structured docs are probably automated rejections.
Hmmm well he did submit a document, so I suppose someone had to take a look at that document. I don't think that IRCC is so advanced where they have AI reviewing document scans. :eek:

I once asked one agent and was told IRCC actually do have AI components now. She even said review for job reference letters might be performed by AI. Not sure whether it's true though as I did not use her service eventually.

You know, it would be funny if it was an actual human looking at PCCs and rejecting it. I mean, how could someone even come up with such a dumb rule like that? :D

Doesn't has to be AI though. We live in a world of legacy and modern info retrieval systems. ATS is one such example too: two column resume = instant rejection, single column resume = accepted; photo on resume = auto rejection, etc.

Yeah, I don't think they would reject someone without even taking a look at their documents. It is a big decision to reject so I assume at least two people looked at it.

Canada’s IRCC can choose to be picky due to high number of applications. In their eyes, 1 or n number of rejections don’t cost them anything. If they have rules set in place about documents, their format etc. then onus is on candidate to abide by that or else face their (systems/humans) wrath of rejection. IRCC was never known for humanitarian grounds anyways. Unfortunately this is the reality. That’s why each one of us is worried of in-progress / not started statuses - fear of unknown.
I only would like to add that no-matter what the outcome, don’t let the system defeat you, don’t let a process stop you from living your life.

@Daren2023 please add myself aswell.

ITA: March 23, 2023
AOR: March 31, 2023

not yet received any updates other than the ghost that changed my background check that was initially not started and changed to processing on Apr 3, 2023.
Just adding to my previous entry, that today (April 25) my background check also moved to "Not Applicable", as seen in some other posts here today. It seems someone (or some AI) was working today.

The IRCC employees show their anger on applicants I guess

I found EE applicants tweeting sob stories on the PSAC about how they are stuck in Canada not able to travel abroad even for parents death because of the strike. They are abusing the federal employees etc..

Ohh when your agent submitted your application then also you didnot get application submission email with application number ?
On 9th, Mar. I didn’t get any email or number. The agent said it is because they are my representative so only they can access to the portal and get updates.
