I have applied for federal skilled workers programme for immigration. I am the principal applicant. My spouse has M5 in our GCM note. We are yet to hear from cic.we are not in Canada yet.I feel we might get PFL. How can I go about it.Since I am the principal applicant is my spouse free from excessive demand in Medical?
In that case, no, your spouse is not exempt from excessive demand. Both you and your spouse must pass the medical.

Is there any thing ...rule...law etc I can use to plead my case?
I would recommend you read through this information.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/standard-requirements/medical-requirements/refusals-inadmissibility/excessive-demand-on-health-social-services.html

If you receive a procedural fairness letter from IRCC indicating that they plan to refuse you due to excessive demand, you will need to respond and prove that your wife's treatment will fall below the excessive demand threshold of $20,000 per year for the next five years. If you receive this letter, you'd be best off hiring a good immigration lawyer to help you to respond.

Thank you everyone for your response. We have a letter from doctor stating he has been maintaining his health with good diet exercise. On top of all this he does not drink or smoke. The doctor stated he would not have any issues for the next "couple of years". He did not state any specific timeline.

To answer nush781's question, it took him 6 months after CIC reviewed their application. We did not get any letter for follow up tests, I believe in your case there is some hope.

Submitting our application today, they basically stated the cost would be greater than $85K health and social combined. For social costs we are stating he would be living with us hence no special care or psychological cost incurred. For health, basically doctors letter and providing an action plan for the next 10 years.
Hi - i have a similar case, can you share your experience, please ?

Kidney failure is one of the top (if not the most common) reason for refusal due to excessive demand. You essentially have to prove that there is no chance of needing dialysis or a transplant in the next 5-10 years.

Thanks, I actually wanted to know more about your experience with t he doctor's letter ? how did you prove that he will maintain a good health in the next 5-10 years ? who appointed this specialist ? did you need a law firm to deal with IRCC ?

Hello everyone,

CIC sent my family a fairness letter stating "excess demand" on Canadian Health System.

Now I understand this topic has been discussed before but I really need your help determining what points would lead to a successful response (acceptance). How many have successfully received their PR after submitting a letter for CKD Stage 4 ?

If you could share some knowledge it would be very helpful. We are submitting the letter tomorrow.
Have you got a PR?

Hello mountain123,

My father is also in the same situation - CKD Stage 4, but he has not received a fairness letter yet.

How long did CIC take since the initial medical exam to send you the letter?

My father has been sent for follow up tests every 3 months since his initial medical exam in Oct 2016. Was it the same for you?

Please keep me posted on your progress.
Hello Nush78I, Have you got a PR for your Father? My Father also has a same issue and he went for test twice after 3 months. Now his file transferred to Niagara office where they usually made medical decision so I am expecting I will also get PFL.

No list but that tends to be one of the biggest reason. Kidney failure usually progressive, dialysis and transplant are expensive, immigrant population to Canada has high volume of diabetes and CKD (South East Asian communities), etc. so CKD comes up frequently in applications.
