BG Completed: Feb 11, 2021

Writ of Mandamus registered: July 13, 2022
Test Invite: July 20, 2022
Test Taken: July 24, 2022
Test changed to Completed: July 25, 2022
Invitation for interview: Aug 1, 2022
Interview taken with officer: Aug 8, 2022
Status of other parts changed to complete (except Oath - not started): Aug 9, 2022

They just asked for a criminal record for my wife and everything in her profile also changed to complete except for prohibition (and oath)...

Glad to hear that the Writ of Mandamus has been pretty effective so far in getting your file moving! Hope you both get oath soon.

Got the email finally. It is online using Zoom.

Email said it’s at at 8am (TIME ZONE). I replied to ask what time zone.

They got back to me quick at least… and said it’s EDT.

My time zone is PDT. So 5am my time.

At this point I can’t help but laugh at this whole thing.

Thanks! Indeed it has been quite a relief to see things moving now. Yesterday I submitted the pending document for my wife and now Prohibition also shows as complete in her profile as well. At this point only Oath is showing as not started... I agreed with my lawyer we will keep the mandamus until we received the invitation for the oath, so I am hopeful that this next step will also be done soon. Most certainly I would rather not have not if they processed it within a reasonable timeframe, but very glad we did it as I am not sure we would still be stuck waiting for the test invite if it wasn't for this extra effort/cost.

Mine is 8.15 AM EDT so I am assuming that is 8.15 am in Ottawa.

Just decided to look into the old ECAS page and both my wife's and mine are now showing Decision Made!!!! almost over...

I'd recommend keeping the mandamus open until you receive the certificate of citizenship, or at least take the oath. Apparently sometimes IRCC doesn't send the oath invite email in time, or there are certain "technical issues" that prevent someone from taking the oath as scheduled, and it can take 5 months to get a new date scheduled?!! See someone in this thread originally scheduled for January who didn't get rescheduled until June!

I'd recommend keeping the mandamus open until you receive the certificate of citizenship, or at least take the oath. Hey @trumprefugee @Orlaith - sharing the update... we have been scheduled for the oath on Sept 6!!! After 27 months it seems that this is finally coming to a conclusion! As suggested I will keep the Mandamus until the oath, but although it may not be the case, I am quite sure our application only moved to this point because of that... thanks for your advices through the process and hopefully your applications will conclude soon!

@andrem I am genuinely delighted for you! We will never know if it was the mandamus or if you have just reached the outer deadline! Either way - WOOOOOO HOOOOOO. This whole process has been exhausting. I will stay around here while oath/cert/passport is in progress. I have seen lots of us at the 27/28 month point who have gotten the oath over the next few weeks. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

This whole process has been exhausting. I will stay around here while oath/cert/passport is in progress. I have seen lots of us at the 27/28 month point who have gotten the oath over the next few weeks. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

@Orlaith - I agree 100%; hard to say whether the process moved as part of some action clearing backlogs or the mandamus, but either way it has evolved drastically in the past 30 days. I will keep you and this thread updated through the next steps till passport as well fingers crosses you and others here also bring this process to a conclusion soon!

Nope, nothing. I am travelling overseas next week for 2 months, I am hoping nothing comes up in these 2 months because I will not be able to do anything.

I did send a webform and mention that its been over 27 months and would like to know whats going on.

Please let me know if you do hear anything on your application moving forward. Appreciate it!!

OMG! I just checked my account, my background verification just got changed from "Completed" to "In Progress".
