I am not sure about how US immigration compares to Canada, can't judge if Canada's the worst until I know how it works in the US. Canada's might not be the worst but certainly pretty close to the bottom.

Its been 5 years since my sister applied for a US Green Card, she is working there Full Time paying taxes n all. Right now their immigration dept is opening files for 2005. Can u imagine? Some people are waiting since 10 years in US.

but they are pretty clear about it, getting a green card in US normally takes this long.

but here, when we applied processing time was 12 months and while we are waiting for a result - processing time is increasing every month (by another month) - and we do not have a final processing time yet. every time call center is contacted, we are informed that we will have to wait another 6 months and this processing time will be updated soon on the website - like is this a never ending process ?

Well I am loosing hopes from this Country & immigration people..... how can they process whole application in only 6 months ? ( talking about Federal Skilled Workers ).
These people never lived in Canada, coming from all over the world they can get their security and background check done within 3-4 months but we are living here more than 4 / 5 years and cannot get security check, background check done easily.. we need 2nd review I never felt this country has worst gov in past 6 years but I am now..

I am sep 2014 applicant, post grad work permit expired in nov 2014, lived 3 months on implied status nov 2014 - jan 2015 no medical no driving license renewal nothing... at last got bowp in Feb 2015.. had hopes immigration will be done in 2015... still no luck in next couple weeks again I will be on implied status.. Its really frustrating did I choose wrong place or am I not putting right efforts ?

Old FSW take years too, at lest for some friends.

EE (CEC, FSW, PNP) officially is 6 months for 80% applications, most take less

I am criticizing express entry process....May be I am wrong

Well, I would dare to say EE is working pretty fine.

Unfortunately it's not enough people working on old CEC applications.

BOWP Process

You can't apply earlier than 4 months to expiry date
Processing Time: 135 days

What are they really thinking?!! :o

That right there is CIC in a nutshell...

I just hanged up with my lawyer because I was investigating the possibility to apply through the EE.

He suggested me to hold on on the EE because in the last few weeks he has seen a significant level of activity for the 2014 CEC applicants he's taking care of. Several Passport and medical requests compared to the (non) activity he has seen during the whole 2015. He believes that CIC now is going to get rid of the backlog it has been created with the 2014 CEC applicants.

I personally will apply right away for the BOWP (my current visa expires may 21st) and if I'll found any difficulty in getting it I'll move to the EE before my visa expires.

Crossing the fingers, maybe we will be processed soon.

I hope he is correct about CIC getting rid of backlog.

I wouldn't trust immigration lawyers. Some of them may lie right at your face, and they never take any responsibilities for any words they had given, they would attribute all processing delays to CIC. Actually I am not sure if most immigration lawyers are on the CIC side, due to some reasons such as personal interests, conflict of interests, which I can only speculate and I wouldn't know for sure. In 2015 my lawyer told me too not to apply through EE, but the fact is if I were applying through EE, I would get ITA in September 2015 and got PR sooner. He was saying the processing time of old CEC is 13 months, he expected to receive my PR in 2015, and what happened we all know. This year, I ditched him and applying on my own through EE.
When these are all over I got a score to settle with him.
