First of all, thank you so much for the valuable contribution everybody is making.

@ SenoritaBella
Yours is a very good and rational approach.

Ignore what SinghLovCan and poushi24 are saying about work records. Everyone should submit NOAs, T4s and letter of employments if possible.
Whenever you talk CS agents at CIC for clarifications, they specifically ask to follow INSTRUCTION GUIDE.

Though I am not against sending any documents as additional proof for your residency, there is no meaning in insisting everyone to send additional documents. If you feel it unnecessary and your case is very straight forward, you can skip this idea and just send only what they want. If you are going to get RQ, you will eventually get it even if you ship a file rack from your basement storage to Sydney attached to your application.

I will better advise people to get prepared ahead if they see any chance of triggering an RQ so that they can respond immediately and avoid further delay.

CanV said:
If you dont send those, then expect an RQ, like the one poushi24 will be getting soon. He/she submitted application back in April and still hanging in there.
Most April applicants have already had their exam taken or scheduled.
Sorry to say, you cut so bad..please don't wish RQ anyone just because they followed instructions! just instructions only.

That is not true, not even close. Only less than half gone for the test so far. Just check the tracker itself roughly 100/400 in total this year, 20/60 in March and 5/40 in April got the test date until now. That makes a max 30-40 percentage went or scheduled for exam by now.

CanV said:
The other guy probably has no work records or he has alot of gaps so he is trying to convince himself that they arent required so he feels better about it. He is getting an RQ too whether he submits those records or not. Most people would just send those without thinking twice, unless they have something to hide.
Another bad cut...Please avoid being too judgmental and criticizing others based on guesses and assumptions.

If what you said is true, there would be no people getting RQ for the last two / three years because, as a requirement if not all but most applicants complied with additional documentations. Still statistics and witness reports show that people were terrorized by pre and post test RQ during that period.

I have all the records of employment, without any gaps for my Canadian history. The one year prior to becoming a PR, I worked in the middle east and I have had many rough times with that employer and the employer didn't give any record (although I have some papers with me that show the record indirectly), basically I was like a bonded employee and it caused me a lot of mental trauma. I had to resign while on vacation. These types of stories, employees being bonded and employers having the upper hand and passports being held and not given to employees is very very common in the Middle East. I could not take it and I still sometimes suffer psychologically. What should I do in this case? We need more US troops in that region, seriously !!!

You don't have to cover the time before the required for citizenship years. If you decide to submit the proof, submit your Canadian working history. Good luck.

That one year falls within the 4 year period preceding the citizenship application.

In that case submit all documents you have and in cover letter explain the situation that existed with your previous employer. This kind of things happen. The most important is you're working now. I wouldn't worry too much. :)

Thanks for your advise, but I am wondering if it is worth to goto the length of explaining, when they did not ask for it? I am hoping to explain it, if it comes up or if they have any questions, what do you say?

why people give more attention about work record ... what about stamps in passport I think they are much important because the officer in the interview go through the passport and checks the stamps. so why people do not send them from the beginning ( I know it is not required as work records )

After they remove the request for work records from the new form its clear they do not require them. so if you want to add any document add it without explanation because they do not ask for it.

I think it's as simple as that if CIC wants to check your work history or ask any questions, they will. What should you say? The truth. :) I really cannot advise you what to do. Personally, I would provide any documents that support my application. Others might disagree. Good luck. :)

They only ask for biographical info from passport not the stamps. Correct? I don't see that in application guide that they are asking for copy of stamps.

Don't remember if the previous version of the guide asked for it or not. Maybe other members can shed some light. But, I did sent the stamps. :)

ETA: Can't see this requirement in the document checklist. So, it's up to an applicant, I guess. :)

Document checklist does NOT ask for it; but the Q 6F sneakily mentions the need for it. I have also read a couple of times in the forum, that these are mandatory. I guess, this will get fixed by CIC soon; however, meanwhile what are considered work records? More importantly, which of the work records can be considered AUTHENTIC in the eyes of CIC?

> T4 s
> NOA from CRA
> Letter from the Employer
> Salary Slips

Any thing else?
The Day after I submitted my application, I saw this on the application form as well... I became paranoid and convinced it was going to come back, because I did not include any proof of work history. I made peace with the fact that my application will be returned. Three months later, a large thick brown envelope arrived... I knew what it was... my application... or so I thought.

To my surprise, my application was accepted!!! no returns. I don't know if I got lucky or whatever but ya, it didn't get returned. ;D ;D ;D

By no means, am I saying not to include any proof of work, I am just sharing my experience with you.

It was there on the previous version, but no more. The form has changed silently.

It looked this then:

As I said earlier If something on your file matches any of the RQ triggers (anything untallied, frequent/non-reported travels etc.etc..), you will eventually get it even if you ship a file rack from your basement storage to Sydney attached to your application.

Make sure you speak truth; only truth, which can be substantiated with evidences if needed!!!
