Yeap, it's not there. I wasted 10 minutes of my life to download and go over the form and guide again. But, I would not risk it. If one has the work proof might as well include it. Unless there's no proof...

This has been discussed 1000 times before. Everyone is over it. Everyone is submitting work and education records. The ones who have not are in higher risk of getting RQs.

WE NEED TO STOP THIS DISCUSSION. It is misleading alot of people. Go look at the old posts where we went in details.

If you answered yes to attending an educational institution, you must provide photocopies of your education records.
It does not require much logic by anyone to realize since CIC is looking for proof of education, WHY NOT proof of employment? Answer this question.

Document checklist does NOT ask for it; but the Q 6F sneakily mentions the need for it. I have also read a couple of times in the forum, that these are mandatory. I guess, this will get fixed by CIC soon; however, meanwhile what are considered work records? More importantly, which of the work records can be considered AUTHENTIC in the eyes of CIC?

> T4 s
> NOA from CRA
> Letter from the Employer
> Salary Slips

Any thing else?
I have submitted my application in April and I didn't see any requirement to submit work record and I didn't submit any record

Submit those papers what they ask for. You don't need to submit extra papers that they don't ask for. Its a false sense that your application is stronger, if u submit more papers. Submitting extra papers upon extra papers that they don't even ask for, is not going to make your application run smooth, faster etc. This is a silly mentality.

That is a silly logic, why did they remove the work record requirements from the form if we have to go by your logic?

You don't have to go by his/her logic. It's your application. :) Nevertheless, when I applied in April there was no mention of proof in the form, yet CIC advice was to include it. So I did. Again, don't take my word for it. The original poster asked a question and we answered. That's all. :)

I guess people will search for this down the road so I feel I should say something.

Ignore what SinghLovCan and poushi24 are saying about work records. Everyone should submit NOAs, T4s and letter of employments if possible.

If you dont send those, then expect an RQ, like the one poushi24 will be getting soon. He/she submitted application back in April and still hanging in there. Most April applicants have already had their exam taken or scheduled.

The other guy probably has no work records or he has alot of gaps so he is trying to convince himself that they arent required so he feels better about it. He is getting an RQ too whether he submits those records or not. Most people would just send those without thinking twice, unless they have something to hide.

I have no gaps in work history and I have all the work records, I worked in Canada. The only thing is the 1 year I worked outside Canada before becoming PR, I have no work record.

They must have took it off from the form because it's not there anymore, they're just asking for school records now. I guess if they're not asking for it, then they don't need it right?
Just my thought. :)

Interesting. It was there a couple of weeks back; in Lille text under Q 6F. I am even more confused now - I do not know why - though document checklist and new application are in sync now!!

Each applicant has unique circumstances, so based on that, he/she can decide whether to send extra evidence(work records) or keep strictly to what CIC asks. No harm done either way.

Personally, my approach with CIC is to give them 'everything' they ask for plus anything else I think helps my case. In submitted:
1) an employment letter;
2) T4 slips for the past 4 yrs (they also showed my address and matched my application);
3) job duties (to show that my work requires physical presence)
4) one recent paystub
5) copies of boarding passes for trips in the past 4 yrs

My thinking was once an officer opens the file, he/she has everything in front of him/her and they only need to do background checks, etc. Document requests always lead to delays. I applied in May, wrote test in August and Oath is next week. Goodluck everyone!
