Im in Hamilton , would love to get out of it though. Im thinking more like BC. No offence to all the people from Hamilton but its not where I imagine spending the rest of my life in.

I guess I might know the feeling bcos I've been saying the same thing to my bf all the time ;)

I am from Budapest, Hungary- a beautiful, romantic city, living in Fort McMurray, Alberta. There is no beauty here, just oil sites, cold and even more cold. I am happy though, this town gave me my husband and my son, I don't care about the rest.

I have a lot of friends up in Fort Mac :)

I'm born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and still live near here (7th generation Canadian :P) I now live with my Portuguese husband in St. Albert just outside of Edmonton, WAY too much snow this year!!! :o I've travelled a lot but never lived in a lot of places like many of you guys!! Hopefully some day I can retire to Europe with him 8)

I'm originally from Kingston (Ontario - not Jamaica - unfortunately no Caribbean sunshine for me growing up :D ).

My partner and I are currently living in Tel Aviv, Israel (lots of sun!!)

We haven't decided where we are going to move back to - this is often a topic of conversation at our house. Vancouver is high on our list, my parents have a place in Ottawa so that's another option, and I would love to live in Montreal (but we don't speak any French :( ) - I think it basically comes down to where every both of us can get employed (which may end up being Toronto).

good point :) at the end u will settle where both can have good employment and they are both more or less happy...if u really love Montreal, there r a lot of places where u can learn French but not everybody is into languages ::)
just to add that we'r currently in Dubai (lovely sunny winters but awful humid hot summers, already 30+) and we'll move to Montreal as soon as we finish this PR thing (Montreal celebrated the 1st day of spring with a snowstorm :-\ but i still miss the life there)

good luck all!!

We're moving just outside of Edmonton, my sister is there now and is shocked at how much snow they've had this year - the worst that she's experienced in 14yrs of being there!!! I just hope it has melted by the time we land in May! :D

I'm going up to spend a couple of months with my fiancee in May so I too hope for melted snow. It's already spring here in Utah and she keeps telling me she thinks the new ice age is starting there! LOL Apparently it won't stop snowing. And we too are moving just outside Edmonton - Spruce Grove, Stony Plain area. I just figured no one would know where that was so I just said Edmonton.

We'll be in Stony, near the golf course. There is a new development being built, they're doing the show home at the moment so it should be ready around the time that we will be able to get a mortgage...as long as the job situation goes to plan!!!
I like being close to the city, but not close enough to go there every day...there'd be no chance of keeping our house deposit with me in West Ed Mall !!

Wow almost everyone here is in or will be settling in the big cities in Canada.

Most people in Canada do live in bigger cities, I've noticed.

i'm from cheshire in the uk and my wife is currently living in thunder bay, ontario.
we plan on moving to port stanley in southern ontario when all is sorted...
i feel a little swamped atm as between us we have the immigration process (not got all the documentation yet)
plus 3 homes, 3 children, 2 dogs and a puddy tat to organise LOL

It's daunting isn't it. We leave on 17th May and I keep thinking that I've sorted everything and then it's like "what am I gonna do with the couch??" or "how much notice to I have to give to cancel Sky?"....one day I'll relax again...in a house without any furniture/TV/pets!!!

I am in Sudbury, Ontario but hubby will immigrate from Kingston, Jamaica :)
