We'll be in Stony, near the golf course. There is a new development being built, they're doing the show home at the moment so it should be ready around the time that we will be able to get a mortgage...as long as the job situation goes to plan!!!
I like being close to the city, but not close enough to go there every day...there'd be no chance of keeping our house deposit with me in West Ed Mall !!

My fiance just signed the papers yesterday to build a new house in Spruce Grove. So exciting! We were looking to build in Stony in the South Creek area but decided on Spruce as that is where her daughter goes to daycare. Maybe we'll bump into you sometime! Good luck!

That's where we're hoping to be!! Small world eh? My fella's friend/colleague wants to come out and see us in September and said he was going to visit a relative so will only stay for a couple of days because of travelling to see them from us....then he announced that the relative is in Wabamum!! He thought it was near Toronto!!! Such a small world.....

My husband arrived in Edmonton in September, coming from Nigeria.

We live in St Albert, a beautiful suburb city with 60,000 residents. We love the small city feel, great schools, beautiful neighborhoods, virtually non-existant crime and peacefulness, while having access to everything Edmonton has to offer just minutes away.

This is his first Canadian winter, and it's been a doozy! He is saving for a snowblower for next year, as he has had enough shoveling to last him a life time. He's becoming more and more Canadian every day, and passed a big milestone last month when he rolled up his first rim at Tim Hortons!

I spent 4 years in Tower Isles, St. Mary. Never knew I would love somewhere else in Jamaica almost as much as I love Negril! Beautiful parish, met some great folks there, loved living there.

Yeah man. I miss my mother so badly and she's dying to see her new granddaughter. I am just waiting for a landing interview at the local office now... Scarborough :o. I hear it's a busy office with long wait times so hope it's not too much longer.

1) Have breakfast at Alfred's Ocean Palace one morning. Definitely one of the best breakfasts on the beach for the price.

2) Take in one of the reggae shows. There are nightly shows at several places, Roots Bamboo has some of the best. If you like clubs, the Jungle Nightclub has some of the best parties in town.

3.) Go all the way round to the West End at least once and see the sunset from the cliffs. Ricks Cafe is by far the most popular place to do so, drinks might be a bit pricey though.

4) Take a day tour out of the town, if you're into nature, check out Ys Falls. If you like Appleton Rum, there is a tour of the estate and the distillery. If you don't mind going a bit further afield, there are several tours into Ocho Rios, like going to Dunns River Falls and Mystic Mountain.

5) Some gift shops are open to bargaining, but not all.

6) Sunscreen is your friend. Really.

Wow, lots of people living in/around Edmonton here :) :)

I am here on a work permit right now, and we live downtown Edmonton 8) However to be honest, I really don't like Edmonton. If I had the choice I would move asap, but unfortunately gotta wait for PR (since my work permit is tied to the city).

Since my fiance is originally from Ontario we considered moving there, but due to a number of reasons we might end up just moving to Calgary for now. I guess we will settle whenever I find a Canadian city which I actually like... If not I guess I'll have to convince him to move to Europe with me 8)

I'm intrigued, what is it that you dislike about Edmonton? My fiancé works with someone who is very vocal about hating it there, but she can't understand why we would want to leave the UK because she lives it!

Thanks CharlieD10! we will go with your recommendations! :)
