What happens during Test

I want to know is it a normal procedure they check your passport / passport stamps when you go for your test. I have a lot of Pre-PR period stamps, but I have never travelled after being a PR. Here are a few details :

1)Never left Canada in the past 3 years
2)No gaps in employment and employment with reputable well known International companies.
3)One child born in Canada and the other one is coming up next year.
4)Filed all income tax returns etc.
5)Brother is here in Canada for the last 10 years and a Citizen
6)I became PR in 2011


Was in Gulf before and I have a non-cancelled Gulf visa, plus I have a lot of pre-PR stamps in my passport. Is this an RQ trigger, what are my chances of getting a RQ. I had to leave / resign on vacation, because Gulf employer was by holding employee passports and not releasing them, if they wanted to leave. Basically they would release passport and let you go , but it would be on their terms and conditions. Seriously !! Gulf Employers.. In 2014 they want to hold ppl slaves.

You will be fine! My personal experience with CIC is that they go thoroughly on your background. If you have everything clean (which looks like you do) then you shouldnt worry!Bring all your documentation to the interview and state the facts.

don't worry. i looked in RQ on some website and it just states about residence proof since you came to canada not before that. I hope that helps.

Yes I am aware of that, my concern is that I don't want my application to end up in a cycle of endless waiting time. My brother who applied for citizenship got it one shot in 2 years, he had no RQ and no passport was checked. He came here as a student and applied after qualifying.

i know everyone is anxious. but we don't have any control. I have seen people in the forum who sent every proof even CIC did not asked, they still got RQ.
in my opinion send what they are asking for and leave everything upto god.

I think people who send extra documents, make CIC suspicious. I read on another forum that if you keep calling CIC for status update, they become suspicious and thrown a RQ at you.

People who never left Canada since becoming PR I believe have faster processing time
just make sure your application package is complete, no gaps, no error on residence calculator

does cic care if visa has been cancelled or not? If not, then don't worry. If yes, they will check your passport after the test and may issue RQ but again, RQ is for time spent in canada to be eligible for citizenship. so, you can be safe.

The normal procedure for people (slaves) who work in Gulf Countries/Middle east, is that when they decide to quit. Their employer takes their passport from his safe locker and then goes to the government and cancels the visa. After the visa is cancelled, the employee is requested to book tickets and meet at the airport and then the passport is handed over to the employee at the immigration departure, so in this way the employer makes sure that the employee has left the country and wont be joining one of his competitors.

In my case, I had no idea of how the employer would react on my declaration that I wanted to leave, plus I was afraid that they might not handover my passport to me (they usually do no handover passports, if you resign..they make you stay as long as possible..if they have no alternate workers). So my idea was to apply for vacation, take my passport and resign while on vacation. This did make my employer mad at me, but I think they deserved it.

I understand your concern but when you apply for citizenship, they are looking at your stay in canada since you came to canda and absenses since you came to canada.
If you have just completed 3 years then your 1 year would be for gulf country.
Even if they issue you a RQ, the 1 year spent in gulf country won't come into picture as mentioned in the RQ.

I looked at the RQ form and looking at it ... and if I had to fill it ...50% of the form will be blank, bcoz I never stayed out of Canada in the past 3 years.

it means that you are not required to fill in any information related to your 1 year outside canada
