if you have completed 3 years cic rule set for citizenship and have no criminal record no one can stop you from getting Canadian citizenship one day you will get...hope this makes you smile... But if people have come from middle east they are victim of RQ no matter what we do to provide proof as there has been bad experience by cic with people coming from gulf. it totally depends on the officer how he rationalizes this judgment. he will be just doing his duty to filter our fishy applicants. Unfortunately the basis to access one residency obligation is going through the passport pages and sometimes old stamps that too in none English language can create confusion and ambiguity. this is the price people coming from none English country have to pay. last but not least with your application if you can submit a full passport translation it will make things easy and favourable to you. and ofcourse the OHIP record and CBSA records.

I looked at the RQ form and looking at it ... and if I had to fill it ...50% of the form will be blank, bcoz I never stayed out of Canada in the past 3 years.

With regards to passport stamps. All my passport stamps are in English. The only two countries I travelled frequently were India and Kuwait and they issue their stamp in English. I did travel to UAE for a 4 day vacation , not sure if that is in English or Arabic... will check... but all the travelling was PRE-PR.


Another point to note. I am not Middle Eastern, Arabic or even Muslim. I just worked in the Middle East.

I am in similar situation I have UAE stamps on my passport. Stamps dates are only in English rest is Arabic, and I have my interview/test on 24th OCT, I am not sure if i should get those stamps translated as i never travelled since PR.

Any advice would be appreciated.

crazylove, did you get your visa cancelled before you left UAE? I looked at my stamps, some of them are not even clear as the ink has become light and not even readable, but all Stamps are from Pre-Pr time.

I was there as a visitor not work visa. I just have stamps in my passport with dates in English.

I checked mien too. I was there as a visitor in UAE for 3-4 days , the date is in English.. but the arrival/departure is in Arabic. Dumb Gulf

Ya same stamps i have on my passport english dates and rest is arabic, i think it would be smart to take the translation to be safe than sorry.

are your stamps in the Pre-PR or within the PR time. Mine are all way back before I even applied for becoming a PR. So I am wondering if I really need to get it stamped. Some stamps are so old the ink has come out and you cant read properly. :-\

Still long way to learn the Canadian way! There is nothing like a racial or religious profiling in this great country's citizenship process so far.
In short, if you fit in the "sizing device" at citizenship check-in, you go clear. Otherwise, hold on!

I totally agree on that, I myself personally don't profile anyone.. but I do know that certain nationalities especially when I lived in the US get profiled a lot by the government , especially middle eastern.

This is quite ironic, when you are in Kuwait applying for a work permit renewal, they ask you to fill out your religion on the application form. The irony being, the same people who deny others equal rights in their country, come to North America and Europe and demand equal rights

Mine are pre-pr i think i am not going to bother with translation, normally people are extra paranoid on this forum, i never left canada since pr so i got nothing to worry about my file is clean.

I think you are right, being on this forum and reading people's stories has made me paranoid.

It's true and also couple of my friends became citizens recently they told me not to worry about anything. No need to create scenarios in our head that don't exist. Good luck with your application my test is next friday.
