What could be proof of travel if travel not planned yet?

No need for this.

You can either ask a travel agent who has the Amadeus Air Reservation system to hold provisional flight itineraries for your parents. This is 'booked' for free for 24 hours.

Or, do check www.yatra.com. They have a 'Hold for free' booking where you can hold tickets for some days without making any payment.

In either case, you can print off the tickets/provisional bookings for the TRV applications + mention you will buy confirmed tickets when the TRVs are issued
very helpful info so that means we have site like booking.com for flights booking for visas perfect

Yatra.com holds it only for a week, after which the ticket will be invalid! And if the visa officer will check the status of tickets at that time, the ticket would be void! Isn't it?

You can always show a provisional itinerary based on when you plan to travel. Given the high refusal rate they encourage you not to purchase non-refundable tickets. If you book something similar afterwards that is fine. It doesn't have to be the exact same flight if the price is better a couple of days earlier or later.

You must mention in the cover letter that tickets will be purchased only when their TRVs are issued.

It's not a wise idea to book tickets before visas are issued. Also, you don't need to submit confirmed plane tickets with the applications

Hi,

I'm applying for visitor visa for my parents but we haven't planned yet when will they come. I'm planning to get married in Canada later this year if their visa gets approved. What can I show as proof of travel, if being a mandatory field?
Depends on where do you live and how flexible your plans can be. I live in Detroit area and applied with no plans since I live right on the border and can travel anytime I want and my application got approved. As a travel support document, I just wrote a letter stating my location and plan to visit Canada during weekends. Hope that helps!
