Hi,

I am currently outside Canada, come for my marriage. I vacated my current address and planning to move to a new city (end of Jun or early Jul) after my marriage. I haven't updated my address in license or any other records. Do I need to show address in the application? if yes, can I show existing address as is where I am not living since May 1st? what other recommendation in my case?

Thank you in advance!

Are you a citizen or PR? Yes you need to show your address in your application and you would need to update your address if it changed during processing. Unclear whether you are a PR or citizen. If you are a PR you can only apply for sponsorship when you return to Canada so should have your updated address by then. If you are a citizen you can apply for sponsorship while still abroad and update your address when you return and secure a new home in June/July.

Thank you for your response. I am a PR

You are a PR, you can only apply to sponsor your spouse after you return to live in Canada.

And you need to continue to live in Canada when the application is processed.

Hey. Is it necessary for Sponsor to update their address with IRCC when they change address (within the same city) while spouse sponsorship application (Outland) is in process?

If yes, then what is the right way to do it?

When I go to the IRCC webform and select ''update contact info '', it appears to be requesting the applicant’s (principal applicant's) information. Since I am the sponsor and also the designated representative for my spouse, should I enter my UCI instead of the applicant’s? Or should I choose the “Check your application status” option and use the text box to explain that I am updating the sponsor’s address? I have seen cases where ircc updates applicant’s address instead of sponsor’s. I’d really appreciate your guidance on how to do this correctly. Thank you so much

Just pick one and do it.
