Hi! Just a newbie here and just wanna know if somebody can help me via advices on how can my husband get me to Canada eventhough he has no PR yet. Is it possible? He works under a farm managerial position since April only this year in SK.

Thanks!

hi ,
you can apply for the visiitng visa or OWP for your spouse if you are on the work permit.

Thanks for the help akil_f1.

Your husband's work permit must be NOC code A, B, or 0 for you to get a spousal work permit. (If he's a manager, it should be a 0.)

Visitor's visa likely to be refused. After he's worked 6 months, try for spouse open work permit.

Can you please post your time lines as i am also in the same situation , and about to apply owp for my spouse.

Thanks amikety. So that is only possible after 6 months. How long will the spouse open work permit be? Do you have any links I can go to to read more about this spouse open work permit? I searched about this before but somebody told me that my husband should have applied for spouse open work permit before, together with the processing of his work permit. He already have his work permit now, and yes, it is NOC 8252.

Thanks again.

That's a "B" NOC code. (8252 = 2 is "B")

Six months is what I've heard from others in similar situations if they didn't accompany their spouse. You can try before - it just seems 6 months is a preferred length of time by applicants. (I've heard a lot of people get rejected when they apply at the same time as their spouse, because there's no proof their spouse is working the job yet!)

You'll need copies of your husband's work permit, employment letter, and proof he's working (letter from employer and/or paystubs - I say get both) along with your documents and fees.

Your OWP will have the same expiration as your husband's work permit.

There are several threads (actually many, many threads) about this in foreign workers and students section of the forum. (Students can get their spouse a work permit too.) If you look around, you can find some of them. There is a lot of good information.

there is no particular link for the SOWP. Just fill all the applications for the work permit and make sure you include all supporting docs like , marriage certificate , husband offer letter & work permit , bank statements , pay stubs , etc....
