Small correction: not all applicants from the former Soviet/Russian countries are requested to submit their passports to Moscow.Sous02 said:Is your husband in Canada? If so yes you would send it to Ottawa and Warsaw if he is not in Canada unless you were from a Russian country where it would go to Moscow. I actually think Warsaw is faster than Ottawa but I could be wrong.
Are you still supposed to get a COPR form when you're visa exempt? - Not sure if it would be part of the package, but yes - they most likely want to return the photographs. That's the only thing that was returned to me when I was picking up the visas and COPR-s for my family.just a square said:I have received an email from WVO today:
We would like to inform, that immigration documents for you are ready to be picked-up. Please arrange for the pre-paid courier services (DHL, UPS or TNT, not/not FedEx). Please contact one of the commercial courier companies (DHL, UPS, TNT) and ask them to pick-up your documents from the Embassy in Warsaw/Poland at your charge.
Weight of shipment (envelope): 0,3kg
What is this that they want to ship to me? Since I'm visa exempt, I was expecting a letter of confirmation to arrive via mail. My guess it's the proof of relationship which I'm not interested in getting back (because it's just copies and printed photos, nothing valuable). Do I HAVE to send a courier to pick up whatever there is?
I thought so... I can't just show up at the border without anything, can I?Allo said:Are you still supposed to get a COPR form when you're visa exempt?
You can't "land" as a resident without COPR. - You may only enter as a visitor.just a square said:I thought so... I can't just show up at the border without anything, can I?
I'd say call CIC and talk to an agent. Best is for you or your spouse (if you had formally designated them as your representative) to call when they've just opened in the morning, i.e. 8AM EST, but you may have to be patient and stay on the queue for 15-20 minutes. When your file is in the DM status, they're cooperative and would likely be able to tell if the COPR is to be mailed within that package.just a square said:Exactly. That's why I'm wondering whether they'll send me the COPR or is it included in the package they want me to pick up.
BTW, MyCIC finally got updated. (This application has been approved)
