Congrats! Glad to hear some movement from Warsaw, especially for those who have been waiting for more than half a year now.annakon89 said:Today was the day! Got the passport request!!!! Yay!!!
Going to Warsaw in person on Thursday and hopefully flying back to Canada just in time for Thanksgiving !!!
by the way...would anybody know if I can just show up at the Embassy or should I schedule an appointment for that?
thanks to everybody for your support!
Ours was from the day our application was received at CIC. Received Feb 23, landed June 20, had PR card in hand July 20. So the entire process from start to finish (with PR card) was less than 5 months. Plus we had an interview in there in Warsaw as well, so probably would have been quicker if that hadn't been requested.Lady_Ashka said:btw, does that mean 5-8 months starting from SA, or for the whole application process?
I just showed up at the Embassy. (but it was about a year ago)annakon89 said:by the way...would anybody know if I can just show up at the Embassy or should I schedule an appointment for that?
The last time that I went to the Visa Section at the Embassy I was turned around as I did not have an appointment. This was at the end of 2015.annakon89 said:Today was the day! Got the passport request!!!! Yay!!!

But was it to pick up your COPR?mega_option101 said:The last time that I went to the Visa Section at the Embassy I was turned around as I did not have an appointment. This was at the end of 2015.
I doubt it. Security is such that I suspect it is even harder. I know for wedding documents and other documents you must have an appointment.a0 said:But was it to pick up your COPR?
It might be different depending on what you need from them.
Before you are let in you have to go through security.Sous02 said:I doubt it. Security is such that I suspect it is even harder. I know for wedding documents and other documents you must have an appointment.
Sounds like you are determined to go to an embassy without an appointment. Let us know how that works out.a0 said:Before you are let in you have to go through security.

Something must have changed then, because when I went there last year, I spent at the embassy only about 10-15 minutes before I was handed my COPR. Maybe I was lucky, because there was no line-up.annakon89 said:I got a letter saying:
1) have the passport mailed or
2) bring it in person
doesn't give any instructions for booking an appointment, so I figured I can go there; it says to come in the morning hours and to pick COPR up in the afternoon, yet thay won't guarantee a same day service...
Congratulations on that! - Best of everything in Canadaannakon89 said:Today was the day! Got the passport request!!!! Yay!!!
