Today was the day! Got the passport request!!!! Yay!!!
Going to Warsaw in person on Thursday and hopefully flying back to Canada just in time for Thanksgiving !!!

by the way...would anybody know if I can just show up at the Embassy or should I schedule an appointment for that?

btw, does that mean 5-8 months starting from SA, or for the whole application process?

Ours was from the day our application was received at CIC. Received Feb 23, landed June 20, had PR card in hand July 20. So the entire process from start to finish (with PR card) was less than 5 months. Plus we had an interview in there in Warsaw as well, so probably would have been quicker if that hadn't been requested.

I just showed up at the Embassy. (but it was about a year ago)

The last time that I went to the Visa Section at the Embassy I was turned around as I did not have an appointment. This was at the end of 2015.

But was it to pick up your COPR?
It might be different depending on what you need from them.

When I went to pick up my COPR I didn't need to speak to anyone else apart from the receptionist who was in charge of COPRs. But as I said, it was about a year ago, so the procedure might have changed.

I doubt it. Security is such that I suspect it is even harder. I know for wedding documents and other documents you must have an appointment.

1) have the passport mailed or
2) bring it in person

doesn't give any instructions for booking an appointment, so I figured I can go there; it says to come in the morning hours and to pick COPR up in the afternoon, yet thay won't guarantee a same day service...

They have begun our background check. Does anyone have any experience with this and the warsaw office?
