Awesome, congratulations!!!!
I haven't heard anything in regards to my application yet. I guess its still to early, for i sent the RPRF last week.

Hello, folks!
We have finally booked our tickets and ready to land in Canada in two months!! :D :D :D
Still can't realize this is actually happening!!

We are going to land in Toronto. But we have another flight to Calgary in 3hrs 45min. Not a lot but hopefully it's enough! Can anybody share their experience how did their landing go? What questions do they usually ask? Tnx!
Another thing.. On the landing guide it said to make a list of all the items i bring to Canada. How detailed it should me? What is important to note and what is not? The guide also mentions that i need to have reference letters from my ex-employers, school diploma's translation etc with me. Is it that crucial? Has anyone been actually asked to present these docs during their landing?

Thank you lots! ;)

So my wife arrived in Canada last November and i was accompanying her. This was our experience.

Initially they told us on the plane to fill out one declaration card since we will be living in the same residence. During the customs clearance I was told that was wrong since we have different status'... I am a citizen and she was landing with a PR status. When we cleared the customs part, they told us to go to this room to speak to an immigration office. She was very friendly and pretty much reviewed and completed the COPR paper. Nothing to worry about since they don't really ask too many complicated or any difficult questions. Actually i was asking most of the questions LOL We left to grab our luggage and during the exit, they didn't check any of our belongings. They just told us to exit without going through any further checks. Having said that I had created a very very detailed list of her articles, clothing, other belonging etc. I took a picture of all her valuables such as wedding band, engagement ring, other expensive jewelry's, watches, electronics etc. However, they didn't check any of those lists created. I guess it's up to you how detailed you want it to be. Just enough for them not to question further. The documents, like diploma, work reference is not necessary during landing, however I'm sure you will need it when you are looking for a job or want to go to school. Try to get as much notarized and translated documentation ready in case it's required down the road during further education or employment.

Everyone's situation is different but I think in general they are very nice and welcoming.

Oh one more thing if your flight is on a weekday, try to get the SIN number at the airport as well. Just ask the immigration office where to do it. It'll save some time later on where you have go to a Service Canada office to complete that task. It's quick. 15 minutes max. they don't give you a card anymore, so it's just a piece of paper with a number on it. That's it.

I think I've covered all important events, if you have any questions, just ask. :)

Hi All!

I'm trying to determine how long it will be until my parent sponsorship application is done.

We applied in April 2011
I was requested to send additional documents to Mississauga - October 2015
Got a letter that all documents were received - February 2016

Does than mean that from here on the application is going to Warsaw (my mom is in Moscow) and will take a further 5 years or so?

Thank you! I so appreciate your help! :D
My husband and our daughter are coming with me too. I really hope there won't be any line-ups. We have just 3hrs 45min from the moment we land in Toronto until we take-off to Calgary. How long did the landing take approximately?

I would say max it will take from touchdown to the Customs area about 20-30 minutes.

With no lineup it took maybe 20 minutes.... I did ask a ton of questions... so probably it is 15-20 minutes long.

Hello,

There is March activation of VO

Submitted papers 27 May 2015
6 August 2015 - sponsorship approved, docs sent to WAW
today received request for passport

I am PR, sponsor is in Russia
Request for passport came 1 day in advance of CAIPS notes requested on 11 Nov. (should arrive tomorrow)

So happy that bought Remy Martin Cognac for 80 CAD at SAQ

My partner had her interview today; literally a couple of confirmation questions...she was called in after the interview 5 minutes later to say that all is good with docs and PR is approved; just need PR fee, update medical , scan of passport, and thats it! Process took 5 months total at warsaw VO...we have 1 year to land as medical will be done next week! Good forum! :D
