You can safely assume that your file is being transferred. In my wife's application, the only notification she got was when her application was sent to Warsaw from Moscow (when Moscow was still handling app's). Don't be surprised if you don't hear anything until the embassy is ready to move forward with your application.

Thanks for your reply. Did they also request a redo of the police certificate?

Our medical expires October 2015. Praying thats all the time they need to make a positive decision on ours.

We included an extensive explanation and apology for my husbands overstay to address any concerns in order to skip an interview....I dunno if its enough to appease cic

She had to do both police and medical a second time because the originals were from October/November 2013. They didn't finish processing her until March 2015. You might get lucky and be finished before yours expires, or if it's close enough maybe they will give you an extension. I can't speak of overstays and interviews, our relationship was fast and our application fairly light and we managed to avoid an interview.

Hi! I would just like to confirm I have an idea of how many documents and checklists I will be submitting, being Polish, liviing in Canada (but applying outland) with my common-law husband (Canadian).

here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp it gives two parts, sponsor and me:

"Part 1: Sponsorship forms

Guide to Sponsorship [IMM 3900]

Document Checklist [IMM 5491] (PDF, 718.73 KB) January 2013
Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking [IMM 1344] (PDF, 552.22 KB) August 2014

Sponsor Questionnaire [IMM 5540] (PDF, 1.12 MB) April 2008
Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 610.82 KB) March 2014

Part 2: Immigration forms

Sponsorship of a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent child living outside Canada [IMM 3999]

Forms

Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008] (PDF, 492.72 KB) April 2015

Use of a Representative [IMM 5476] (PDF, 610.82 KB) March 2014

and do all these documents (the ones which are applicable, I suppose? so use of representative or children lists, if i don't have children and he doesn't either, do not need to be submitted), so do all these have to be followed by http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5491E.pdf (IMM5491E) for my husband and the country specific http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3902e.pdf for me, or do these two (5491E and 3902e) are checklists of all the documents we need and that list from the CIC page does not apply/covers the same material? (i can;t seem to make out if the documents listed under this CIC link are documents listed in the 5491 ans 3902 checklists?)

And just to confirm one last time - I live and will continue living in Canada with my partner (WP and visa probably later) but this form http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5490E.pdf seems to focus on living away from each other,so there are questions about traveling to see each other, but... we don't travel much to see each other these days, becayse we live together! should I anticipate problems with that? or do I just attach letters explaing?

thanks very much for any help with this!

Follow both checklists. They essentially list the same documents.

For any questions that don't really apply to you, answer them as best you can and include a written explanation.

Ok, thanks! so follow IMM5491 for my husband and 3902 for me, and they will cover the files listed at the CIC page here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp?

And should I anticipate any problems in view of the fact we live together, but apply outland, or is that irrelevant?

thanks so much for the help :)

It's common for couples to live together in Canada and apply outland. There are no problems with that.

this is the same document for common law couples, conjugal, and marriages, who does not need to live together. so yes, you answer as honestly as possible, and if you didn't travel much to see each other, cuz you live together, then very much say it and write more about your relationship history, when you moved together etc. anyway you will have to prove that you live together, if you want to apply as common law.
:)

Great, thanks! We will do just that, we've been gathering evidence for the past year :) and we have evidence of travel to each other before that, because we've known each other for some time now, so it should be allright, thanks so much for your help guys! :)

Hi everyone. I originally posted on the UK outbound thread but it seems this is the thread our application belongs in due to my wife being Russian. I've added our info to the bottom of the spreadsheet. Currently in stage 2 of the application with everything (incl Meds) having been sent to Warsaw. No stage 2 AOR yet.

Let me know if I missed anything on the spreadsheet and best of luck to everyone.

It took my wife and I just shy of a month to receive an e-mail from Warsaw, confirming they have received the applications. May 6th we got the sponsorship approval and got the AOR from Warsaw today, June 2nd.
