hi can we go to canada for a short period on tourist visa. i have applied for immigration and awaiting medicals
kindly reply

no problem at all,
the only thing they might slap you with "visa refused because we think you will not return to your country"
so make sure you provide all the usual evidence you are returning.

good luck

Hi,
Yes, it is possible. Actually last night I submitted my visit visa application. I will take the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination on October 6, 2010. I have a pending PR application, which is in process since July 31, 2010. Until now I am still waiting for my medicals. Just ensure that you will fill the PR application information on the designated space in the visit visa application form.

Tourist visa applicants with pending PR application will face a huge challenge to convince the VO to issue you the visit visa. Chances are lesser compared to those who do not have pending PR applications. You got to have some strong reasons for the visit and strong ties back home to give the VO the impression that you will leave Canada after your visit. In my case, I have the letter from the regulating body (College of Registered Nurse of Manitoba) addressed to the VO, stating the reason why I need to be issued with the visit visa. I will not be travelling with my family on my visit to Canada. I gave them as well some documents that I am currently employed, approved vacation leave from the HR department of my employer, and round trip ticket.

I will give you an update after around 21 days, if I got the visa or not.

Hi Sachin4canada,
We visited Canada 4 times in 2years( We applied for visiting Visa twice) while our PR application was still pending. I dont see any problems at all since you are able to prove that you have a strong tie back home such as employment, Finance and your retun ticket. You should be fine.
All the best

sachin u have not mentioned ur visa office.... although the rules for all cic visa office r same but some visa office r more flexible then others...

I would suggest not to apply for TRV, my cousin got rejected and as LOUK said, the reason was same "visa refused because we think you will not return to your country"

These are my CRNE preparation materials and ways of how I got them:

1. Lippincott's CRNE Prep guide- I googled CRNE prep guide and purchased this book online.
2. The Canadian Registered Nurse Exam REview, A Fast Track Approach- This book was given to me by a CRNE review center in the Philippines(Careerworx)
3. The Canadian Registered Nurse Examination Prep Guide, 5th edition (product of the Canadian Nurses Association)- I ordered on line through the CNA website.

There is no problem in getting a Visitor Visa while you have a pending PR application.

I have for the FSW in Dec 2004 and I applied for a Visitor Visa 3x already. The only problem i think you'll be having is to convince them them you will be returning to your home country.
