Hi, I have applied Visitor Visa as an Inland Applicant. I have applied it on April 09 2024. Is there some one who has applied for Visitor Visa in the same timeline?

So what is your current status in Canada? Processing can takes weeks to months.
Thanks for the response. I am on a Visitor visa, visiting my family. My visa is expiring on May 12 2025 so i have applied for Visiting Visa on April 9 2025 and IRCC processing time is 17 days. I didn't hear any response from IRCC as of now.

Expiring visa has nothing to do how long you can stay. Was your passport stamped when you entered? When did you enter?

You cannot apply for a TRV inside Canada if you are on a visitor visa. You don't need a visitor visa if inside Canada. You can only apply once you leave Canada. You need a visitor record to extend your stay.

My parents are in Canada on a regular visitor visa which is expiring at the end of July this year. They currently have two applications in process with the IRCC i.e. 1) their PR application under PGPP 2023 2) their super visa application which was applied right before they left their home country and entered Canada. Now my question is, with two applications in process and their current visa expiring by July end, could they get the implied/maintained status until 1 of their applications with the IRCC is processed? OR, does that not apply here? If not, why not? Curious. Can they apply for a visitor record? I will appreciate whatever you guys can share. thank you!

No, they cannot get maintained status until 1 of their applications with the IRCC is processed.

You can apply for a visitor record but there's no guarantee it will be approved. Your PR and super visa applications don't give you advantages in that regard. more likely, the opposite.

I appreciate your response. that's what I figured. I found it somewhere that the maintained/implied status only applies for inland applications and since the super visa is processed outside, it doesn't apply. However, the PR is processed in Vancouver so I wasn't sure. Also, I am unsure if the visitor record can be applied only when the 6 months max time is coming up and the visitor wants to stay longer OR also when the visitor visa itself is expriing (my parents case).

The TRV is essentially a travel document and is unrelated to the length of visit in Canada. They should apply for a visitor record before the end of the approved visit period which is either indicated by a date in their passport or 6 months if no date is indicated. The ability to qualify for implied status is more complicated than being an inland application. Not sure why everyone insists on applying for a supervisa and then leaving their home country to visit Canada. This is not a good plan. You can’t magically convert your visit to a supervisa visit when you come to Canada.
