Hi,

I want to apply visit visa to Canada. Please If anybody will help me out with the questions below

1. I applied for Immigration to Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker in 2001 and refused because of lack of experience. So I have to mention this in background information in question 2c or I can ignore and move forward because this was way back in 2001. Or still they have our data in the database.

2. I applied for non immigrant visa (b2) USA and denied in 2017 did I have to mention this also according to the background information in question 2b. How can they know that I had been denied USA visa do US and Canada share there database.

What are my chances to get visit visa if I will provide this information honestly.

This is my profile:
1. I am applying from Saudi Arabia (Indian National)
2. I am working from 18 yrs in Saudi Arabia, married with 2 kids
3. Have decent salary and bank balance
4. Travel history : Went to UAE only
5. Want to visit Canada with wife only for 2 weeks so I can have strong ties that I will come back for my kids.

So please suggest me how to apply and what are my chances to get approved.

Hi,

You must declare visa refusals for any country (not just for Canada/US). Failure to declare could result in a TRV refusal + 5-years ban for misrepresentation.


1. Yes, your previous FSW application records will continue to remain on the IRCC database.

2. Yes, the US and Canada share immigration data. Not declaring your US visa refusal is not a risk that you'd want to take.

What are my chances to get visit visa if I will provide this information honestly.

There's no option but to declare this honestly. These refusals will show up against your name/your identity when you apply for a TRV.

Having said that, each visa application is evaluated for its individual merits. For a TRV, you must demonstrate that you have no intentions of remaining long-term in Canada + prove your strong ties to both Saudi Arabia and India.

3. What is the purpose of visiting Canada? Do you have a Canadian host/family?

4. Do your kids live with you in Saudi Arabia? How old are they?

5. Do you have dependent family who live with you (for example, your parents/in-laws)? Or do you take care of them financially/well being?

6. What strong ties can your wife establish? Does she live in Saudi Arabia? Or in India? Is she employed? Property ownership?

a. Company letter where I am working, residence permit from Saudi Arabia (Please suggest me what I will submit other than this documents)

a. Yes I do have a property in India and a rent agreement in Saudi Arabia.

3. What is the purpose of visiting Canada? Do you have a Canadian host/family?
a. Tourism only. I do have my Uncle back in 2001 when I applied for FSW but now he moved out from Canada. (I mentioned his name in relative when I applied for FSW in 2001). I want to stay in hotel. It will make any difference having relative/friends.

4. Do your kids live with you in Saudi Arabia? How old are they?
a. Yes I have 2 kids living with me in Saudi Arabia. One is 7 yrs old and the second one is 5 months old. Shall I apply for all at once or I will apply first with my wife and If I will get approved I will apply for my kids.

5. Do you have dependent family who live with you (for example, your parents/in-laws)? Or do you take care of them financially/well being?
a. Yes I have dependent family (parents) but they are in India.

6. What strong ties can your wife establish? Does she live in Saudi Arabia? Or in India? Is she employed? Property ownership?
a. She is having family back in India. She lives with me in Saudi Arabia. No she is housemaker. No she did not have any property.

You must also include:
Scan your work visa (for the cover letter) + a leave approval letter stating you will have your job when you return + 6 months' pay stubs + 6 months' bank statements (any large, last-minute deposits must be explained)

Are you on a work contract? If yes, when does it expire?

Yes I do have a property in India and a rent agreement in Saudi Arabia.

India property: Property ownership documents + current market valuation (either by your self or a CA) + supporting documents to back up the market rates you have cited + latest property tax receipts

Is this property rented?

Saudi rent agreement: Include the rent agreement + 2-3 months' rent payments/receipts. Highlight the rent deposit or forfeiture clause (if applicable)

a. Tourism only.

Do prepare a detailed day-by-day itinerary with expense estimates. Factor in costs for hotels, sightseeing, entry fees, meals, local travel, etc. Prove that you can afford the trip + airfare + incidental expenses

Also, explain why you want to visit Canada (and not the UK/Europe which are closer to where you are, for example).

I want to stay in hotel. It will make any difference having relative/friends.

Having family in Canada means that costs for accommodation, local travel, etc may not be necessary instead of having to stay in hotels. Also, it makes the purpose of visit somewhat stronger, especially if someone has not traveled abroad/countries that require visas.

If you apply for yourself and your wife first, you must explain who will take care of your 5-months baby.

Also, is it practically possible for a 5-months' baby to stay without his/her mother?

Having said this, if you, your wife and kids apply together then it reduces your family ties/reasons to return to Saudi Arabia.

You could include evidence such as bank transfers to their accounts, or if you pay their utility bills/medical insurance, etc. And, mention in the cover letter that your parents are dependent on you.


Also include evidence of your financial investments in Saudi/India + include a must-return-by-a-specific-date reason (with evidence).

I want to apply online so can I attach all this documents and where should I attach cover letter and about funds can I add credit card limits also to the total funds or just I have to mention only saving which I have in my bank accounts in Saudi Arabia and India.

You cannot add the credit card limits to the funds available for your visit. You can, however, include 2-3 months' statements if the dues are low + state you will bring these cards for your visit.

You can also include FDs (if they are not locked-in) + cash (if you can prove that you earned it) + foreign currency (if you have purchase receipts/purchased from government recognized Forex dealers), etc

My fiance (Filipino, with PR status) and i decided to get married in June 2017...after that he wanted me to go to canada with him in August 2017...what kind of visa do i need to get? and what are the requirements for me to get a visa?...i am presently working in a bank, would it be advisable if i resigned before getting a visa or resigned after getting it? Please help me ease my burden...i really want to be with him after our marriage rites here in the Philippines...i'm still having dilemmas on documents to process at this time...thanks for those who will help me...

You'll need a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) if you intend to travel with your husband in August 2017. For this, you must demonstrate your strong ties to the Philippines + prove that you will not remain long-term in Canada. However, with a Canadian spouse, getting a TRV is quite challenging.

Other options are:
1. Apply for a TRV (before you get married). You must be honest and declare that you intend to marry shortly. Chances of approval are low.

2. Apply for spousal PR and when your file is transferred, you can then apply for a TRV

It is best if you do NOT resign until you get a TRV. Employment is a strong tie, and it counts favorably for a TRV

IMO, your previous PR refusal for lack of experience will not affect your current TRV application. Don't forget to mention this refusal + the US visa refusal + give the File Number/details
