Here's the timeline for my In-laws -

Type of Visa: Visitor Visa
Application submitted: on 5th Jan, 2022 using GCKey
BIL: Received on 6th Jan
Biometric submitted: On Jan 11th
BVL & PPR: Today (Jan 18th)

Here's the timeline for my parents -

Type of Visa: Visitor Visa
Application submitted: on 27th Dec, 2021 using GCKey
BIL: Received on 28th Dec
Biometric submitted: On Jan 10th
BVL & PPR: Not received yet

Are you requesting for Biometric in your application? My parents had Canadian visa, but it expired and I am re-applying. They dont remember if they did biometrics the last time when they applied 5 years ago. Its possible they did it. Are you requesting for biometrics anyways? Also, Are you uploading your supporting documents in the application? I dont see a lot of space to upload docs. How is everyone uploading all the documents?

Hi All,

I am helping my parents apply for Canadian visa through IRCC website. Their last visa expired with their passport last year and I am re-applying.. I wanted to know two things:
  1. Are you requesting for Biometric in your application? They dont remember if they did biometrics the last time when they applied 5 years ago. Its possible they did it. Are you requesting for biometrics anyways?
  2. Also, how are you uploading your supporting documents in the application? I dont see a lot of space to upload docs.
Thanks!!

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to invite my parents and sister to Canada on a visitor visa using the new IRCC portal. Has anyone applied/received a visitor visa for a sibling? I and my husband are PR in Canada, and we believe that we have a strong reason to invite my family to Canada. But, I have heard that getting a visitor visa for a sibling is very challenging. Can anyone please guide me?

TIA,

Can someone please help to advise on this. On the new IRCC portal it even ask whether you (the child) is travelling with both parents but then on next page under "Who is inviting you", its asking for a mailer address and expected it to be a Canadian address. Its confusing :(:(:(
Guys please help on this. Also appreciate if someone can help to advise the required docs asking for "Proof of current Employer" in CA. As of now when we are doing prep in advance and awaiting for the offer, we dont have one to attach. How to deal with this document requested ?

And Since I as the father is applying for the child, the requested document is asking for "IMM 5476" form. In this form there are few queries:
1. Name of office where the application is submitted. What suppose to go here if we are applying online. Is it current country of residence ?
2. In your declaration section of this form. Can i Sign on behalf of my kid. Also the same is asking for "Signature of spouse or common law partner for sponsorship application". Is this applicable at the moment ? Should any one of us (parents) can sign here ?

Appreciate any help/clarifications/insights since we have a stringent timelines to met.

Thanks & Regards

I got refusal for my family application today
Sorry about that. What were the reasons for refusal? You say family so who applied and how many applications? See your brother is 27, he applies on his own as he is not under 22 and a dependant of your parents. That may be a reason for refusal.

I applied both my parents and my younger brother for visitor visa.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your travel history.

How old is your brother? If over 22, he applies on his own and not with your parents. That may be the first issue if you applied under one application. Order GCMS notes

- Travel History: Do you they have any to US, UK, NZ or AUS?
-Country - Do they live int heir country of citizenship? If your family comes who remains in their home country.
- Purpose - Why are they visiting and for how long?
- Employment - Are your family members employed and include letters.

Order GCMS notes. So your brother had a separate application, and your parents have another application? Things you may need to address:

- How did your brother and parents show that they have jobs and can leave them for 6 weeks and 4 months?
- What is the purpose of visit for 6 weeks and 4 months?
- If you are PR, why aren’t you applying for a super visa for your parents as they want to come for 4 months?

Yes I am PR and my husband is a canadian citizen. My brothers can have annual leave from his work in March. As for my parents, I don't want them to get tired of travelling since they are 60 and 80. If they don't like staying longer, they can go back with my brother once he leaves the country.
