Hi Ashra I sent the request of changing office on 28 May..

AND guess what? Half an hour ago I got the email from the visa office in Vienna Austria asking me to send our passports there!! I am in Germany but the closest visa office is in Vienna.

The email I got is so simple:

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order to complete the processing of your application you must:

· Provide this office with an original passport for you (and your accompanying family members, if applicable) in order that an immigrant visa be affixed. The passport(s) must contain at least one blank page and must be valid beyond your planned date of arrival in Canada. The passport(s) will normally be returned by registered mail to the mailing address we have in our records. Please also send a photocopy of the passport page containing your personal details and photo.


If you wish to have same day service, please come to our office in person. Please consult our web site (see below) for our hours of operation.

We request that you comply with these instructions within two months of the date of this letter. Failure to do so may result in the refusal of your application and the closure of your file.

I got the 'ready for visa' email from Vienna visa office today, 12 June. Guess I am lucky coz it only took a bit more than 2 weeks..

Updated. It is nice that they allow same day service.

Every country's requirements are different. You can include photo if you want, but it is not necessary for you.

Just finished sending my passport and photos to canadian embassy manil thru local vfs. They can't tell how long it's gonna take though, just hoping it's not gonna be that long again. Thank God, this is the last waiting game.

Sigh that is VFS for you. I have used their service couple of times in the past. They are so scared to give out 'wrong' information, that they don't give out 'any' information.

I got reply from CIC regarding visa stamping in India.. I emailed to CIC to change my visa location on May 23rd and got reply after 20 days..

Hope those who all are still waiting for a response from CIC will get it soon.

Yes but I wont go to Vienna from Hamburg for the same day service, it is more than 10 hours driving...
I hope it is also fast even sending them by post because I am going to need my passport for travel in late July. Thanks roth.
