Becoming really impatient about such an easy request for the government. To send my passport to Ottawa or wait until I have a reply... such a great dilema! Well, even if I sent my passport to a friend in Canada by courier will take about 2 -3 working days to arrive. Then, he will send it to Ottawa the next day. Finally, once the visa is stamped the government will return it to his address (2 days more I believe) and he will send it to me via Courier. Everything would be about 10 days approx. But this waiting is freaking killing me!

I would really like to know what it takes to have a visa issued at a different office. Maybe rocket science is involved lol. No more updates guys??

It's getting really difficult to hold my breath like this...More than 2 weeks now...praying to GOD so that we all receive the request by this or next week...It doesn't make sense at all why they are taking so long to make such arrangement.

Since I am India I requested them to process my Visa Stamping at NewDelhi .

I replied thrice , my last date to send PP TO NEWDELHI IS March 14 .

They are not telling anything I waited for 50 days ...

Any suggestions ???

This is scary ... ???...I think you should make an attempt to send your passport to Canada.

I am not sure...in the passport request mail they asked to provide requested information or documents within 60 days..

Does it mean if we respond to them to do visa stamping at local office immediately after initial PPR then we can wait more than 60 days from initial PPR for their response for visa stamping in local office?

Wow that's crazy waiting for 50 days and no reply. This is really messed up on CIC's part. My advice to anyone reading this thread, if you can send your passport to Ottawa by whatever means and get it back safely, just do it. Don't bother asking to stamp visa at another office. Hope we hear soon. Goodluck guys.

Just wondering, if we send passport to Ottawa and then receive Email from CIC for visa stamping at local office, is it going to be a problem.

Can they still do the visa printing at ottawa after organizing the visa printing at local visa office?

lucky_CA I was wondering about the same thing. I guess if you do decide to send your passport to Ottawa, just email them and let them know that you no longer need to stamp visa at local office. I'm planning to do this next week.

When you get the request to submit passport to local office you have to submit pictures, so its not like Ottawa sends your pics down to local office and whatever. So such a simple request taking so long is unacceptable.

I would be frustrated if I wanted to land asap, thank goodness I'm planning to land until end of March or ealry April.

Ok. The waiting is done for me. I'm tired of feeling anxious every day waiting for a reply from Ottawa. If I knew this before I'd have sent myl passport to Ottawa right away. The problem is trying to buy a shipping label online to have my passport return shipped to my sister in USA. There are still technical difficulties with the payment... oh Canada Post! And it should be an easy task for the ones who have family in USA. Well, will go to Fedex this morning and send my passport to this friend in Canada so he can send it on to Ottawa.

Totally agree, this really really sucks. I will probably be doing the same next week. Wish I had sent my passport to my friend in Toronto 10 DAYS AGO!!
