Hi Guys,

I am in also going to be in similar situation for VISA stamping.

I am currently in Canada (principle applicant on PR) but my wife is back in India. Is it possible to get VISA stamp for her in India and I do my processing in Ottawa?

Also, I am trying arrange one of my friend to bring my wife's passport who is expecting to travel to Canada, but Is it legal for him to do so? I read somewhere in forum that an authorized person can take it, but I was wondering what is definition of authorized person? I mean how to make him authorized? any form need to be filled or notary or something else?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had the same situation, I dropped the mail requesting my wife's visa stamping in delhi and CIC replied back with mail asking only my wife to submit passport in Delhi and I have sent my passport to Ottawa but waiting for its return.

Hi All,

Yea that's a good idea. After reading some of the stories here, seems like the request to stamp visa at another office was the worse decision I made with CIC. The wait is just totally unfair.

Exactly...not like they transfer your physical file to the local office requested. Besides, GCMS is accessible at all visa offices so any officer should be able to verify your status. I just want to get this out the way asap.

Just got request for submitting passport at Visa office in Sydney, Australia.

In the email they asked me to complete attached Appendix B and send photograph. However, they did not attached any appendix B and photo specification in the email. I replied to CPC-Ottawa requesting those documents.

Just wondering , guys who received request for visa stamping at local office , did you receive those forms. If so , could you send me a copy of the forms (if no personal information is there)

Thanks

WOW!!!!!!! Received the request to submit passport to local office a few minutes ago!!!!!!! Such a relief!!!!

Cograts lucky_CA.......we're on the same timeline now 8)

Hi wesskess
did you receive appendix B and photo specification as an attachment with the email? if so, do you mind send me those in email (if there is no personal information and appendix B is a generic form).

Thanks,

Congratss wessless...btw how mant days have they taken to give a reply?
Thanks!! Took them 10 working days. Strangely I was asked to submit only 1 photo...others from other offices were asked to submit 3 photos. Can anyone clarify this? Also in the email they asked to submit Medical receipt, RPRF receipt Biodata...I'm guessing this is just generic...can anyone confirm if they sent all that stuff to their local office????
SINGHQOG or nkk0127 any advice???

Hey I didn't receive appendix B...but I believe that's just an appendix giving photo specs and other info required like RPRF, Biodata and Medicals etc.

Here's the photo specs I got in the email:

PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS

Notes to the applicant:
- Immigration photographs are NOT the same as passport photographs.
- Make sure that you provide the correct number of photographs as specified by the visa office

Notes to the photographer:

The photographer must:
- Show a full front view of the person’s head and shoulders showing full face centered in the middle of the photograph;
- Have a plain white back ground;
- Be identical (black and white, or colour) produced from the same untouched negative, or exposed simultaneously by a split-image or multi-lens camera;

The photographs must:
- Measure between 25 mm and 35 mm (1” and 1 3/8”) from chin to crown;
- Have a 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8” x 1 ¾”) finished size.
