Hello, need some clarification with our situation

1) My finace with her 18 year old son arrived here in Canada on Dec 22, 2015. Their visitors visa will expire on June 22, 2016 (Their passport was not stamped so the assumption is they were given 6 months valid stay)
2) She was married and got her annulment last April 15 2016. We are waiting response from Ontario Marriage Office for the Completed Divorce Authorization so we can get married here in Toronto. We estimate that we can get married by June 15, 2016.

Questions:
1) Given that their visitor visa will expire by June 22 and we plan to get married by June 15, should she still apply to extend their visitor's visa?
2) CIC website indicated that visitor visa extension should be made at least 30 days prior to expiration. Can we apply 2 weeks prior to expiration?
3) If we apply for visitor visa extension and we are able to file Spousal/Family Sponsorship prior to release of decision of the visitor visa extension and if the visa extension gets denied, would it impact the application for Spousal/Family sponsorship?
4) Anything that I should know about that can complicate my sponsorship for the dependent child who will be turning 19 years old next year April 2017?

Thank you for the advise.

1. she and her son should extend their visitor visa so they can maintain their legal status in Canada. (they are implies status until decision made of their visitor visa renewal )

2. yes- As long as CIC receive their extension applications before their visa expired.
make sure they mail with tracking number.

3. if she applies for outland and her visa get rejected, then she should return to her home country and wait for her PR.

4. hope other members would answer you.

good luck.

3. no, having a denied visitor visa extenstion request does not impact your spousal sponsorship application. it's usually best to mention your intentions to apply for PR status in your extension application, most pr applicants or those who show proof they intend to apply have no problem getting approved. it's good to ask for 12+ months. many people get this length of extension. if you can pay at least 1 fee before applying for the extension, that will help show your intent to apply. you don't have to pay them all at once.

Thank you for the insight. Gave us a better and clearer picture and what needs to be done.
