Need some help in filling up the CAIPS/GCMS form. I will be requesting the said form as well as I'm the sponsor.
Section A: Does my husband need a consent letter inorder for my request to be complete?
I ticked hard copy (paper), what is this "examine copy of information in a government office" for?

Yes, he need to provide consent. I scanned mine and emailed it to my wife. She printed it and mailed.

There's explanation here : http://immipedia.ca/Ordering_FOSS_and_CAIPS_notes

It says : "If you are overseas, someone else (a Citizen, Permanent Resident, or someone physically present in Canada) will have to obtain them for you under the Access to Information Act. This can be a relative, friend or sponsor, or a commercial service. For this there is a $5 fee (more if you use a commercial service), and you will have to provide consent. Forms for this are available on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. "

"examine copy of information in a government office" is option for you to go to the office and examine notes there in person.

The best option is hard copy but also consider emailed option in pdf form. We have ordered hard copy (printout) (30 days wait), but as I read in some topic email option in file form is way faster (7 days).

Thanks Serdj977....as always! for pdf it only contains up to 25 pages. what if my application is more than 25 pages? can I request for both? if both, I have to pay $10?

Mine printout was 23 pages. Not sure what happens if it is more than 25. Probably they just disregard order for emailing and do it via regular mail in hard copy.

If you want both I think you'll need two orders... Two consents, two payments.

Or maybe she faxed it, I can't remember... :) Anyway, fax is option too.

Hows things with you? I assume nothing new while ordering GCMS...

everyday, frustration, stress! I even talked to my husband today weeping. it's funny because I used to be the one who always console him, trying to calm him down but today, the tables were turned and the advice he said to me today were the same advice I gave him before. :) Yup, Vienna emailed back today. still being assessed & unfortunately no timeframe as to when they will be done. 6 months? 1 years? who knows. this month mark the 2nd year since my husband left Canada.

Thank you so much. I doubt about the 25 pages of our application since it passed through appeal in court & re-process again with an ARC application too....but I'm cheap. I'll better post a note that if more than 25 pages then send the hard copy then.

How about you?still too early to inquire Vienna? other positive note, Vienna is quite fast in responding emails & I've notice they usually response/update on fridays.

I know exactly what you're saying... Frustration and stress... Mood shifts.
It' great that we have support and understanding from our spouses and give that support back. It's the only way to go trough this process...support and understanding.

I've just seen your comment in Krofnica's topic "Redo medicals...". They gave you the answer you already know... "still being assessed". The worst thing is not knowing time-frame or exact dates...

I put an update here few days ago. Vienna sent me interview invitation and scheduled me an interview. I'm off to Vienna in 10 days. Things are moving forward a bit. I can only guess my time-frame as it is different from case to case, but for me 5-6 months at best. After interview 3-4 months for reviewing by CSIS, then have to redo medicals and get police clearance as they both expired. Then 2 or more months waiting for med. assessment from London. Who knows... I'm thinking 6 months but I sure hope it's faster than that...

That's great news! it's moving forward. Soon you'll be with your wife. Is Vasilisa with you there or she's in Vancouver? Vancouver's nice. no/less snow. you can get together with Cleo & her hubby once all of you will land in Canada. Are you excited? nervous? it must be nerve-wrecking but they say it's just a formality. naahhh....you'll do fine, as long as you don't have any criminality issues. hopefully it will be faster... ;D

She is in Vancouver now, can't be here with me (work...etc). She visited few months ago, had to get back for work...
Yes, Van is nice city. I totally love nature around, entire BC is beautiful. Less or no snow in Vancouver that is true. I don't like snow but don't like Vancouver's rain and dull weather either lol. Well... can't get everything :D
Get together with Cleo and her husband would be nice. We'll sure do that :)

I'm not nervous about the interview, excited yes cause things are moving forward. Just hoping my English is understandable enough. I don't want to be misunderstood in some way. That's the only concern I have... But I think I'll be ok.
It's about my military background no criminality issues.

My husband rec'd an email this morning requesting his passport. Yeay!!!!
He's going to be going to Vienna to get it stamped, so that we dont waste time mailing it.
I'm so happy, after 3 years it's almost done.

I guess now that summer vacations are over, Vienna is back at work.

Great news, finaly!
Congratulations! :D

Serdj977: Your english grammar & spelling are pretty good so no worries, you'll get it...soon. :)

Krofnica: Congratulations again. :D that's what we are going to do too. once he will go to Vienna for his passport to be stamped, he will not go back to Hungary but go straight to Vienna international airport & fly from Vienna to Toronto. wish you all the best to you & your husband. ;)

All this great news for Vienna applicants!

My husband couriered his passport today. Well, he has a lot of things to do before he leaves. We didn't think it would be so fast. Anyway, he's booked a flight through Hungary/Frankfurt/Vancouver the first week in November. It's much cheaper that way, and get this, it's a return ticket. Only 500 euros! Well, the waiting is more bearable now.

Hey guys! Congrats on all the PPRs :)

Did anybodys spouse go to Vienna this Tuesday? There were actually a few ppl and some common laws with their PPRs lol
well, we just got back and..........

My husband got his visaaaaa..:)

I still can't believe it..
I will write out our experience for you Serdj, but right now I am going to get a good nights well deserved sleep! :)

Yay.

Vienna received my husband's passport today, it only took a day to get there! Hopefully they will process it quickly.
