My spouse received an email today informing him that he would need to attend an interview at the Canadian Embassy in Vienna early next month. As of now, the MyCIC status is still the same as before:

Application/profile status: Open
Review of eligibility: Review in Progress
Review of medical results: Passed
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
A background check is needed: Not Started
Final decision: Not Started

This will probably get updated soon, though.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Will the background check be on hold until the interview is done, or will they move on to doing the background checks etc.?

We just want this to be over already so that we can get on with our lives.

Received my CoPR in the mail on Wednesday, Nov 9 (see detailed timeline in my signature).

I'm a little pissed cause they gave me Condition 51, even though our relationship started (with proof) in 2006, but we were married less than 2 years when they received the application, so that's probably all they looked at.

Oh well, I guess I'll get over it.

Congratulations! :) Finally this process is over for you!!! Vienna is working :)

It means that I must cohabit in a conjugal relationship with my sponsor for 2 years after landing. So basically I can't go back to my home country without my spouse for more than I guess a usual vacation time span which would be probably 2-3 weeks. It really isn't a big deal, I don't miss out on any rights someone without that condition has. It just feels crappy.

No. Just an email notifying us about the interview. However, they did ask to bring any additional proof (communication, financial, photos etc.) to the interview, which I suppose is standard.

Did anyone heard anything from Vienna?

Didnt post for so long, My husband is been here for 6 month couldn't be more happier after all the wait. I wish you all the best of luck and all of you to be with your love ones

Once again silence around Vienna :(

So I promised I'd let you know when we received our GCMS notes. We got them 2 days ago. We ordered them so close to the date they approved my application that the notes show everything as passed/approved. I'd say it took them about the 30 days they said it would.

The last note says:
Application reviewed. No concerns over bona fides of the marriage. Long term well-documented relationship. Eligibility passed with conditions. No admissibility concerns. Crim/med passed. All other requirements met. Application approved. COPR x 1

After reading that I gave myself a big pat on the back. Must have done a good job with the paperwork :D Sometimes it pays out to be in the administrative field (and the typical way-over-organized German I guess lol)

Thanks for the info! And once more congratulations! :)

Now I am getting worried...its being 3.5 month of silence from the VO. I am thinking to order GCMS notes, however on the other hand the file is sitting there not that long...so I am afraid there would be no info yet. Probably I should wait and order by the end of December... ::)

Doesn't hurt to order notes. It's just 5 dollars anyways. I mean, some people order notes constantly, so when they receive their notes they order the next ones. I think that's unnecessary (and probably annoys the visa officers lol), but hey whatever they need to do to make themselves feel better. But for you, I'd say go ahead. Good luck!
