avadava always Family Applications for Sponsorship was in Vienna, guys it is only one month longer, i rembered when i applied it was 6 months updated to 10 and from 10 -12 months, i know it i shard to say patients, just pray to god and god listen to our pray , your day will come guys, Vienna is really slow embassy , but they are another embassy like Signaport, Islamabda, etc longer waiting period of time , and nothing can do , Vienna can be worst guys, and everyday process to come to canada will be longer and longer , do you know the articles what we are reading is most of the people are Fraud, and CIC, getting a lot of this phone calls , and they said also on one article that we are glad that they still continue to give this Visa with this amount of time ,

Hi Europe,

Applications for sponsorship were handled in Berlin before, at least for citizens/residents of Germany. Maybe Macedonia had it always in Vienna, not sure. But I know back in 2010 when my husband and I were considering going to Canada, the application was going through Berlin (we never applied though, cause we wanted to stay for a while in Germany). All this was transferred from Berlin to Vienna just recently.

Either way, it doesn't matter, what matters is that they closed down other VOs and Vienna took a bunch of extra work on themselves from so many countries.

and I'll have a shot of pálinka - or two ???

I am not a big fan of pálinka but right now I think it would do me some good....I am sooo close...and keeps slipping away. It was going to be 12 months in 8 days. But with my luck I am in the other 20% that takes god know how long to process!!!!

Spreadsheet 000023.xls has just been updated.
http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/b6f7c54e-ef4b-4ec1-8dde-7315e97d18eb

This also shows the open applications under Family class as of July 09, 2013 (see the "Federal Cases" tab in the spreadsheet).

According to this (and the three previous updates, which I still have), the picture in the family class (exept FC4, which is for parents and grandparents, I believe) looks like this:

Family (except FC4) *
Selection D Final D Total
04.10.2012 320 157 477
08.01.2013 244 328 572
09.04.2013 196 263 459
09.07.2013 356 137 493

*) Numbers for spouses & partners are also there, they are usually a bit lower.

This confirms somewhat, that they have not really worked on the files since April, with the exception of those which have already been awaiting a final decision. The stack of files in the "awaiting selection decision" queue just got bigger.

And if you are interested in even more data, check spreadsheet 000001.xls
http://data.gc.ca/data/en/dataset/427337d0-7c36-4fed-8428-c6a63f8c19b3

Choose "Vienna RPC" in the pulldown menu and you can see, that they have not been idle at all in the past - contrary to popular belief:

In the past 12 months (July 2012 - June 2013) they have provessed a total of 911 persons in the family class alone. In the sub-category "Spouses & Partners" they approved 695 and rejected 91 persons.

Good day to all my friends

Has anyone here contacted Vienna through regular mail (snail mail) recently?

I need to send them our marriage certificate! Is this the correct address?

Embassy of Canada
Laurenzerberg 2, (3rd floor)
A-1010 Vienna, Austria

What else should I include so they can put it in our file?
The File number of the Applicant perhaps? Aspa was not given a UCI yet.

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom, I haven't sent anything through normal mail to them, but if I had to, I would probably use the same address (it's the one listed on http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/austria-autriche/contact-contactez.aspx)

I would include aside from the File number, complete name and date of birth also. Just to make sure.

Hi Tom,
I would put the file number on the envelope too (REF# xxxxxx) and also with your documents inside the envelope.

Any information what happened to the remaining 125 persons they processed?

Looking at the spreadsheet, there are
75 persons approved / 10 refused in the Parents/Grandparents category
30 / 7 in the dependent Children category
1 / 2 in Family Class (Other) category

No initially they didn't ask for one really. It's that we got married on Oct 18th so as we are obliged we did inform them by email. So I did last week and they sent me back a reply asking us to send them our marriage certificate. That's the story :)

Hey Europe! how are you?

She has a file number (it was given upon our SA back in March. When I sent them the email about our marriage 2 weeks ago they replied back requesting the certificates which I translated and guess we can send it tomorrow.
As you say I will include all the info including my UCI and our names on the cover letter

Kind regards

Tom

Hi Tom
Good to know you got some kind of reply from your VO so at least someone over there is alive anyway :) Maybe this bit of mail will trigger some action on your file processing. We're still waiting for COPR and I guess it will take another month or 2 but we certainly will not complain when we consider how long you guys have been waiting without any movement or progress. Hang in there. Best Regards
