Hiiii!!! Really, KKMoe, this is nice :D
I have been wondering if I am the only Hungarian here ::)
The Balaton is nice and quite clean this year. Lots of tourists are there but the lake is full of water at least ;)

So you applied in March. Oh, and no news from Vienna since that? Why are you coming back though?

De beszélhetünk privátban is, ha van kedved :)

Hi all!

How's everyone?

Just read through all the posts and gonna say one big CONGRATS to everyone and anyone who mentioned something awesome, like new babies or anniversaries etc.
(In a rush so gonna keep it short)
My lawyer got a hold of all my doc's and looks like August will be my month to file! =D That's all from my end.

One tidbit of info i got a hold of: For anyone of Croatian decent applying for Spousal via Vienna, the last couple that got their PR was clocked in at 3.5 months (this was at the end of last year 2012)! That's absolutely amazing. So, if that info helps anyone, there it is. I wish all countries were processed this fast...

Hope everyone is well, happy and healthy!

Angie

Hi Angie, just curious when did you apply? or is august when you will be sending your application? I know a few people from Croatia that received tourist and work visa's very quick. Especially the truck drivers. I don't think they put one country's applicants ahead of others or in a express lane hahahaha. But I know it's easier for Croatian citizens to come to Canada as opposed to Bosnian or Serbian. A family friend wanted to bring her niece and nephew over for the summer from Bosnia. she purchased the tickets and the kids were denied and she lost the money for the tickets. I heard of one case from Ontario that they got the visa in 3 months and they were from Serbia. and that all happened this year. I think its just luck of the draw.... possibly some help from a lawyer or connections. To me it's like a playing the lotto. It also depends what time of year you apply and what VO you get. some might be quicker then others as well some cases are cut and dry and some have lengthy background checks.

Zdravo Milance!

Yup, you're absolutely right about the lawyer/connections aspect, especially for the GTA area.
Oh dear, that poor lady, how come they couldn't give her even a partial refund??? Especially on such grounds! =(
It's not about putting anyone's applications ahead, what i meant to say is that certain cases probably get processed quicker from what i noticed on these forums, aka the VO sees that there's not much to look into and believes a case to be genuine, i think... i hope i expressed that thought right lol.

I know of no other Croatian cases since i spent most of my time with Serbians, so i know how difficult it can be for Serbia sometimes. I knew a lady back when i was canvassing for my old boss who couldn't bring her kids over from Beograd for years. I hope she managed to do so by now.
I've had some bad luck with VO's within Canada. Hope the ones in Vienna are nice :D
I will be sending/filing my app in August, sometime within the first half of the month. Once i do, i'll update my info on the left hand status bar and keep you all posted. How is your case going so far??

I do have a question, if you or anyone on here can help: The doctor who does the medicals in Cro said that i don't need an IME number to do an early medical, BUT that he will then have to send it via DHL (what? who uses DHL anymore???) to CIC or whatnot, wherever the medical goes, and that cost's about $100... now... i think that's a load of bull, and that the doctor can send that medical document via certified secure mail from the post office (like i've sent all my docs back to Canada). Has anyone's doctor said the same? That they need to use some idiotic courier service, or can i simply tell him to calm down and send it the way IIIII want it sent, which saves me $80 bucks?

Angie

I don't know how the medicals work outside Canada but the medicals inside Canada are now submitted online (e-medicals) and not per regular mail anymore. They started doing this in the end of March 2013. If they have the same procedure outside Canada you don't have to worry about shipping at all.

Hi Angie,

In my opinion I would never ever trust Post offices anymore. I sent my docs and the imm. Forms to my Husband this June by mail. I choose a service which was fast, I could track it, had a tracking number, and included insurance in the price it cost around 30 dollars, and my Husband got is OPENED UP and all my documents were missing, and some of the forms too........ So it was NOT a simple envelope, it had it's own envelope etc...
So we had to gather everything AGAIN, lost a LOT of money and precious time... :'( :'(
So afterwards he sent FedEx here, payed 140dollars for this but got it IN ONE PEICE.

Hungary: Oh my goodness!!! If the documents missing had your SIN numbers on it as well as DOBs, inform your banks and other financial institutions because identity theft clearly still runs rampant =(
Keep track of that, God forbid they use the info on the stolen documents in any way.

Little Apple: Aaah, so it seems to be true, but, how long did you have to wait for them to send you the medical referral and IME number? If it doesn't take more than a month, then i'll wait for that instead of getting it done the old fashioned way (which i was informed they still do, but only for Spousals, outside Canada**)

Angie

Yes, it was a headache. I went to the police station and told everything, so...
I was lucky, because when I was there on visit, I took a lot of our documents with me and got is photocopied and notarized there.
In this envelope I was sending a copy of ID card... My police clearance certification and the medical document. Oh and passport pics.
But I had a very hard time to calm down... :-\ :'(

Hello

To all guys my advice is if you want to send something use FedEx or DHL because they will delivery your mail. My husband send me a registered mail from Canada with tracking number in March and I still haven't received the mail. So after few weeks he sent me by FedEx and I got for 2-3 days. Its expensive but the nerves and time we saved. And he called Canada Post, so Canada Post returned our money. I haven't any news. We contacted MP last Thursday and no news from him.

I wish and hope everything will be ok with your wife's pregnancy and the baby.

Zdravo Angie :)
Yeah I don't think our friend will get her money back. Had no insurance on the tickets. It's a tough process and I hope you get yours done by the end of the year or early 2014. My wife keeps saying she will spend the holidays alone once again. And they way its going who knows when she will get her visa. Maybe next year. If it goes past November she might have to do her medical again. Honestly I don't think they have a very good system set up in the VO. I don't know how some people goes years waiting for a visa. a few years back I heard that they can't have a couple separated for more then 6 months but now I see that is all made up when all the visa offices are at least 8 month waits.

I know when my wife got her medical done she paid 150 EU I believe and she just had the form and her pictures. the doctor had a different form just shorter then the original from the online package and told her they will send it to London. so im guessing part of that 150 went for delivery services. It was actually fun doing the application and getting everything together. getting your first AOR and then approval. But now it's just torture. No updates and then increasing the wait time to 11 months.... I feel so much for people like you who are just starting out and you might be in for a long ride on this forum, checking ecas and emails constantly. We all hope that our app gets somehow put on top of the pile and processed first but not the case. Im still kicking myself for not getting on the application right away. plus we had some delays with one of her documents and finally applied after 6 months. She should have been here by now. But nothing can be changed can't go back. When we applied that time frame was 6 months so I hope it stays to that and she gets her visa beginning of the fall. I went to see her in June for 3 weeks and I might just go in September and stay until she gets her visa.

Hi Everyone!

Wow, you had trouble with the postal service too, it's not easy but annoying..

Milance it's awful to be apart, and yessssssssssss, they shouldn't keep couples apart like this! My Gosh, if I just think over that we are spending our first year of marriage like this... :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Don't kick yourself for being a little bit late submitting the application, at least now you can show 6 extra month of your relationship. I just say this, because I have worries, who knows how are these VOs think?
May I ask how are you able to leave your life behind and come to wait with her even for months? Maybe you would give us some good advice. :-[
