They havent talk about vienna .. so i dont think it has an impact on the applications processing through vienna... we saw earlier last month two few guys got COPR .. that means they are working on files... but keep finger crossed.. dont lose hope

Hi guys, I am a new member, reading your posts for few days now, trying to grasp everything (especially the abbreviations, not easy ) So I will try not to pose a silly question but if I do so I apologize in advance

I must say I am really so happy to have found you! It is a huge relief to see that my husband and I are not the only ones suffering from this Vienna uncertainty
Especially when I see few of you with the similar timeline, I will try to put mine to so we can compare:

app filed (This means when it was sent?): 30 January 2013
AOP received (When CPS Mississauga confirmed they received the application?): 15 February 2013 (But they say they received the file on 1 February)
SA (Sponsorship Approved?) : 22 February 2013
File Transfer: I do not understand what this refers to?
What I find strange is that I did receive a confirmation e mail from Vienna (is that AOP stage 2?) on 1 March stating that they received my application, since then nothing...

What do you think? And have you heard about some applications being forwarded from Berlin to Vienna office?

I hope I bring us more luck and good news from Vienna

File transfer happens basically when your sponsorship is approved .
I guess you are one of the lucky ones who got a second AOR (not aop )
It has been four months for me almost and no word from them. I havent heard anything about the files from Berlin being forwarded to Vienna. Does it have to do with the fact that certain visa workers decided to walk off of the job?

Edit, after posting this I realized the Berlin office has been closed for a year already so yes it would make sense that those files have been forwarded.

Sorry about the AOR, I was in a hurry, I did learn that

I forgot to share this info too, it comes from Canadian Embassy in Belgrade, about a month-month and a half ago Vienna office had a software problem and they did not operate for almost 2 weeks so that could have delayed things a bit more...

And yeah, I guess that's the case with Berlin, I suppose the whole process slowed down with all those applications forwarded. Why not send it somewhere else but Vienna? I must say we expected some answer by now, based on some experience I heard from last year applicants...

I also don't see how you did not get the second AOR, it makes no sense... Did you pay all the fees in advance? That's the only possible difference I can come up with. I did my medical exam on 10 January so no difference there. And of course, you sent all the documents together, both the sponsor's and sponsored person? I hear it was different earlier. In that letter my husband received about his sponsorship being approved they stated that the application will be forwarded to Vienna so I did not expect anything new from them (I did not now how the process works), but then I received an e mail from Vienna a week after. It contained all the same info we already got from CPC Mississauga, they repeated to have received the application on 1 February (when actually Mississauga received it) but with Vienna office data at the end of the e mail, up until now I did not know that this phase was so important.

Could you please give me some details how the process works from now on - We get an e mail or regular mail with the COPR (I am guessing the final confirmation of PR status)? Do they ask for police certificate again if 6 months have passed, or some additional documents besides the passport? I suppose it takes around 2 weeks for them to return the passport with the visa in it and that's all, finally?

And one last question, do you know does the office operate normally during summer, no vacations or something like that?

I love making plans but trying to see the future at this point is really exhausting

Did you pay all the fees in advance?

No I did not, I have a consultant who I gave the last fee a couple months back so I am pretty sure he paid it back then so I don't think that should have been an issue. I don't know if you have read up on my situation but I filed my case without a valid passport which, I was supposed to receive my passport last week but I keep running into problems. That is the only reason I can think of that could delay my process but others haven't received a second stage AOR either so I am not the only one.

And of course, you sent all the documents together, both the sponsor's and sponsored person?

From what I have read here and from what my consultant has told me;
You are basically waiting for them to open your file now. It is at the visa office yes, but they have not opened it yet. When they do, your Ecas might or might not change to IN PROCESS. Ecas is super unreliable so don't take my word for that happening. From that point on it might take a month to another year for your COPR. It all depends on what happens, your medicals might expire which I don't dont will be the case for you. Your police certificates .. I am not sure how long they are valid for. They might ask for additional documents. They then might also require an interview if they think the relationship is not genuine or if they just feel like something is off. If everything is perfect, your Ecas might or might not change to DECISION MADE. Which doesn't give you any comfort because it doesn't say approved or disapproved. Bummer ! But I'm sure 99% it's positive lol. And from then on .. I have heard it takes 1-3 weeks to receive your COPR by mail. I don't know if you are from a visa exempt country or not but if you aren't then the next step is your passport request. I don't know too much about those.

Sometimes it tells you whether they are closed or not. Just google Austrian holidays, they will most likely be closed on those days.

i remebred for my husband they never asked for his new policve clearance but after one year we send the new one together with the new medical , our MP told us to send also even police clearance even they didnt asked , becauxse aftre one year they will ask for new one ,
dont look often ECAs because they will never change very often , i remebred when Vienna send as that they start our process it was in May 9 and we didint hear from them until september when they invited my husband for the interveiw.

Toronto ASAP Canadian Embassy in Belgrade is close for a year and so , because i call them , and also on Web site showing that all the process from EC yugoslavia who was in Belgrade are forward to Vienna.

Thank you so much for the info, sure it helps! Lv.F I did not know about your passport situation, probably that's the reason... I come from Belgrade, Serbia so I am not visa exempt All this looks like September is the earlier time to expect the whole process to be over if everything goes perfect?

Europe I know about the Embassy in Belgrade, the Embassy is still open, but they closed the visa office and transferred it to Vienna, I got two tourist visas for Canada, one from Belgrade office in March 2012 and the other from Vienna after that. But they still have like a consulting service in the Embassy in Belgrade, you pay them to fill all the IMMM forms for tourist visas. I know a women who did that a month ago and that's how I found about the software problem visa office in Vienna had, at least that's what they told her at the Embassy.

Great if the police certificates are valid for a year.

So your e-cas really shows the status from Mississauga actually! Exactly same as ours.

Yup let us hope that soon we'll hear something from Vienna.
I would be happy to see anyone from Vienna getting news because then it shows that they are working on files and our turn would be next!

I landed last Saturday. We went for a trip to the US and then landed. Very easy and I had a very nice IO. She just asked a few simple question like if I have been in jail after my application etc.

It's almost unreal that it's over. For so long you live with that uncertainty, checking ECAS and waiting not knowing what to expect. We finally can focus on our future without that uncertainty.

@ toronto: most likely they don't reply to your e-mail in April because it was within the three months. If I remember correctly they only reply after the file has been in progress for at least three months.
