Can I visit my wife in Toronto,..and wait there until the case is on process??? Any suggestion

My husband was refused visa too. The reason they gave for refusal, they dont believe he will leave the country once visa expires.

ANYONE WAS LUCKY TODAY?? how long does background check takes???

Hi everyone

My background check is now entering the 51 month.Military service 1991/1992 in Bosnia as ordinary soldier.First security interview I had in Vienna in June 2010,and now I am waiting for the second one.Application submitted in March 2008.

I so hated military service and JNA but that stupid thing was manadatory. Now some of us have serious problem because backgroound check takes forever.

Zelim vam svima puno srece i da niko ne prodje ovo ludilo od cekanja kroz koje ja prolazim :)

Unfortunately my friend you are so right. We in the south Balkans had to endure mandatory army service. Of course in some countries like mine we were a little luckier because we did not have any involvement in the Former Yugoslavia conflicts and this is why the background checks are not too scrutinous. Be patient and soon you will be reunited with your spouse!

:D :D
My dear friend :)

I am united with my wife since 1997. The only positive thing during this hard period of waiting is that we got our third child (baby boy).

Thanks so much for your encouraging

Just for those that are wanting to know how long it can take to get your PR-card after landing....I got mine yesterday after 2 month and 3 weeks, so within the normal time range. It sometimes can take longer, but if it takes way over 3 months you should contact CIC.

I hope you all hear good news soon!!! There seems to be not a lot movement at the moment, try to be patient as much as possible, i know some are in tough or tight situations what makes it even harder, but there can be suddenly good news for more than just one person, we had this quiet time last year too for a long while and suddenly many heard good news and keep in mind, a new year began, again they get lots of new applications, i think the beginning of the year is for them the busiest.

Vienna just send me a request to do a medical, which is weird because in an e-mail i got last week they said they were still valid until June 2013.

BGD my husband never attend military in Yugoslavia , we send thje military booklet from Ministry of Defense satying that he never been , and Vienna Got that paper , and now they are processing application , but it is taking forever, i am so stress right now .

Mc Dutch you received email tyoday from them , when you did last year the medical , how long you are in process

Hi Europe
I applied June 2012, but my medical was done December 2011.

I got married after my application, so i got a new file number.
I contacted Vienna about this new file number, because on ECAS it didn't mention "Medicals Received" anymore.
They then replied that my Medicals were still valid until 06/2013.

Today i got an (very vague) e-mail that included IMM 1017 to complete.

I e-mailed them to look for my medical in my old file number and send them a screenshot of their own e-mail.
I hope i don't have to spend the $180 again, but if i do, so be it.

I hear medicals are the final bit.

MCDutch you heared soemthing from them i am still waiting , does anybody know if you have to redo the medical how long you have to wait to get the answer back from Vienna

well McDutch's medicals expired in December, ours in January, so if we follow that logic we should be getting the request soon as well. Hopefully at least, just so that we get things moving.

Don't send them stuff unless you hear from them.
It's hard to tell how long it takes before they reply back, it all depends on the agent working on your file.

My medical expired this monday i think to redo too, even MP told me not to do anything , just to leave like that , anybody knows how long will take once you redo the medical to finalize the process

I was just checking my ecas like I do daily, but didn't really expect to see anything new...

until I saw...

DECISION MADE!!!!!!!!! ;D

I had to check several times to make sure I'm not seeing things lol!!

Good luck for all of you still waiting!! This is proof they are still working in Vienna!
