I just remembered one detail I didn't mention in my description of the landing process: the immigration officer asked how much money I had at my disposal. Because I'm immigrating to Quebec I'm not required to have any money but since she didn't insist on any documentation I just made up a number and she was happy with that. I thought that was going to be faster than arguing with her about immigration requirements...

I dont Know i heard sometimes is taking a month sometimes longer, and dependce if you miss a document you are in Q until they start working until in your process, and sometimes they forget in your file , like for example they forgot bout my file

I suppose that I don't miss documents. I'm not sure about sending an e-mail. The last one I sent before 2 months. I have heard that Vienna doesn't want to disturb them often.

Yes, I had an interview on 16 October 2012

We contacted our MP yesterday and they called me back today. They're still doing background checks but everything else seems to be fine and they believe that our relationsship is genuine. The MP can only inquire about the status every 3 months, so I was told to call back in the end of March. I really hope it will be done before that! But I suppose this is good news and now we just have to be patient and wait for the background checks to be finished and then it should come to an end!

Europe, what about the police certificate of your husband? Is it still valid? Otherwise they will ask for a new one.

I know it is hard but we have to wait for the final
Do u know or anyone knows how long a background checks are taking for german citizens???

I haven't seen any correlation to date between nationality and length of background checks, other than it seems to be faster for women. My husband is german and we've been in background checks since September. The wait is most likely due to their processing load at CSIS or wherever they're doing the checks.

I am just wondering.. has anybody requested the CAIPS notes on their case? If so: What was the process for that and how long did it take?
