thanks madam-m, just try to stay positive, that's all we can do. It is very hard sometimes, this is even more disappointing since I had my hopes up being near the end....turns out I was wrong again. Well, I hope next week will brings some nice things to us all.

I don't know if it's possible to get a job in Canada paid through Germany. I still have a German bank account. That wouldn't be a problem.
I just want to make sure it's 100% legal what I do

little_apple, I am 99% sure it is legal since you technically work for Germany and it doesn't matter where you are, on vacation, in Canada, etc...
Just to be absolutely sure ask some lawyers if you have opportunity?
If you have employer who supports remote working this is definitely way to go.

If your work is affecting the Canadian market, you obviously need a work permit. However, work done by phone/internet elsewhere (even when you are located in Canada) is not "work" according to CIC:

From the CIC Foreign Workers Manual
Definition of “Work” [R2]
“Work” is defined in the Regulations as an activity for which wages are paid or commission is earned, or that competes directly with activities of Canadian citizens or permanent residents in the Canadian labour market.

Wow i feel so lucky, got passport required for my wife this morning. Just want to let any newbies out there no that dont read too much about peoples processing times. It the one thing that drove me nuts because i thought id have to wait 13 or more months for my wife to get her PR. Anyways, i applied in Sep/12/13 and got an email with approval March/07/14 all in all only 6 months waiting with no issues at all! It all depends on individual situations. Anyways last time on this forum just want to say good luck to everyone waiting i no it sucks but in the end it is all hopefull. Good luck and farewell.

Ive read that they do but i think thats only on tuesdays or thurdays. I read it on the forum but i dont know if that is 100% correct. I thought if they send a PPR and once you send it they do final backround checks. Its confusing. Why else would it take 2-4 weeks to get your passport back. Did you try emailing them to ask first? In any case he will find out on monday.

Can someone please tell me what I should be expecting.. we recently got asked for proof of ongoing communication, and then a month later for PC and chest x-ray. How much longer.. im not one to complain but this system has no idea what its doing to us. I want to do nothing but cry because im so frustrated. My(our) life is on pause. Someone who is from the same country as me got PPR 6 months after they applied, me ive been waiting 13 months almost with no end in sight. I just feel like i get my hopes up for them to be shut down immediately. I feel bad for my family and friends because the stress and frustrations is taken out on them, and im angry all the time. How can i be positive when i dont know when my life is going to start. i didnt see my husband for a year before going to visit him for Christmas, and now its been 2 months since ive seen him. I cant imagine spring/summer coming and me not see him again. Do they not understand that we cant afford to take these trips, we cant get time off work because you know what, bills have to be paid. And at the rate theyre going with doc requests, we have to work our a**es off to pay for all the remeds the mail etc. I just wish someone would tell me an exact date of when my husband will be here, how long it will take to clear everything so i can start planning for things. I know we're all in thw same boat but when i hear that someone got processed in 6 months while theres some of us waiting 12+ months, i cant help but feel anger and frustration that it's not fair accross the board.

Sorry for my rant, its almost 2 am and i cant sleep because im so stressed!

Dear GF,
I wrote a similar story a few days ago... I am in the same situation as you, separated from my husband waiting, waiting, waiting!!! Only normal explanation what I have is that our files are at some lazy officer, who doesn't care at all!!!

People, is there anyone who we can complain?!
