Hello there, I have read this topic for a long time, but now I decided to join you guys.

I applied for my husband on Feb 2012, and file was transferred to Vienna on March 22.
Could you please help me out about the matters that I listed below:

1.I haven't received any thing that called AOR. what kind of form is it?
2.We didn't mentioned our Email addresses, and just put our mail Addresses, do you think how they will contact us, phone or mail? me or my husband?
3.He has living in Germany since 5years ago, but before it he was in Iran. do you think that is it affected on back ground check duration?
4.and this time(13 months) that is mentioned on website is about when they are start to work on the application, or is it estimated time for the end of the process and getting visa?

Here is my time-line:

Rome VO received our file on March 4, 2013
Started processing our Application on July 8, 2013
Passport requested on November 28, 2013

Compared to other VO's, Rome VO is processing applications quite fast..!!

I am shocked that you've applied on Feb 2012 and still waiting You MUST give them you're email address as well, it's a much easier and faster way to get info and notifications.I suggest you apply for your CAIPSnotes to see what the problem is. I'm also an Iranian and living in Germany so should you or your hubby have any questions I'll be more than happy to help

Hi Irsa!

I haven't received AOR as well. That is acknowledgement of receipt. I was worrying about that too, but I was told by some of the members that sometimes they don't even send that. I applied in March, and my papers are in Vienna since April.
I suggest you to send them your e-mail addresses. In case something is missing or interview is required, communication is way faster and you don't loose any additional time.
It is hard to tell for background check. I am a female, from Croatia, no military or anything like that and my security check is still going on, from June. I don't know why does it take them so long.
13 months is the time that in which 80% of cases are solved. Also, as Avissa mentioned, maybe it would be good for you to request the notes. I did that 2 days ago, now I am waiting. Here is the info for that...

I would give it a shot. Mind you, you won't be able to find out how much longer you will have to wait from the notes.

Have you tried contacting Vienna VO and explaining your situation? Maybe they can speed up your process since you are already living and working in Canada.

I know that I wouldn't know how much longer I have to wait. But it would help me a bit if i would know if it is "in process" and when they started processing it.

Hi Irsa,
that is awfully long time not to have any information whatsoever (It's almost 2 years !!!! ). Do you have a file number or UCI so you can check the ecas? I know it's not reliable but it should say something. I would suggest you contact Vienna ASAP to see what is going on.
