As I am following the February thread for the time being, I like to ask your opinion as most of you have been here for a while!

You might not know it but my package arrived in CIC-M on February 26th. All of more than 40 February applicants got an AOR or SA except me! Even the ones whose apps arrived days after mine!
My concern is big as I believe that maybe my parcel was somehow misplaced in CIC. Just recently a fellow member from January was informed that his package was finally found after 40 days but it was missing all the apps from inside! Strange!!!

Have you had similar incidents since last year? I mean had anyone from this thread experienced such a thing?

I would appreciate any input!

You really have to be super patient in the first 3-4 months.

It took them almost 3 months to let me know they received the package.

I've only got an email about 3 months after we sent in the package to tell me that I was approved as a sponsor and the first AOR that I got was from Vienna a month later, so 4 months after we sent in the package. I don't know if receiving the AOR from Mississuga is a standard thing but I wouldn't worry too much yet. Also, their processing times vary like crazy from month to month, it was 90 days when we applied and now it's down to a month or less, but it could be that it's going up again. Remember that it's the end of the fiscal year in the government so things might be slowing down because of that as well. I haven't heard of them losing packages though since I've been on this forum (not that it doesn't happen).
I'd recommend contacting them if you haven't received your sponosorship approval after their stated processing time, until then they might not bother with your update requests.

I wouldn't mind waiting only if was assured that my parcel is in good hands. That's all. Yoiu guys had it very bad last year and I sympathize with this.

It all comes down to which agent is handling your file.

Wonder what you mean with "you're applying for her living in Vienna". So you're doing the PR application just for her to have the option of moving to Canada later on? Or do you mean to say that she'll be living in Vienna until the PR application is processed?

Looking at the timelines, it will be a quicker process if we apply "outland" (as i guess it is referred to around here). The intent is for her to live here in Canada asap.
For now she is visiting here (Canada) as often as possible.

We are about to send in the applications and are planning on her going back to Vienna for about the time that they may call her for an interview, which will roughly be her 6 month allowed visiting time anyway.

right now it says that they are processing applications received Feb 18th, wait for another week and if you still don't get anything and if they are processing applications received later than yours than I'd call..not sure who..maybe CIC call center to begin with. I am not comparing your file with ours we were just really unlucky with the whole timing. I was just trying to say that we didn't get an AOR but a SA straight away. But what someone else said is true, it does depend a bit on who is processing your file, some people have bigger loads, or are on leave etc so that could be one reasons. Don't worry too much, I was worrying why my husbands file was taking so long compared to everyone else here but in the end it all works itself out. I truly do hope you get some good news very soon!!!

I think you should wait because now they are working on applications from 18th February and you sent your app on 26. I sent my documents on 1st February 2012. On 3rd of May we got an e-mail that my sponsor could sponsor me and on 17th May we got an e-mail that Vienna received my documents. While we were waiting one period they worked on app for example on 23rd of January and the next week they showed that they work on app on 18th of January. My husband called them to see how is that possible. They told him that maybe they forgot some packages with app which had arrived earlier.

I think you should wait because now they are working on applications from 18th February and you sent your app on 26. I sent my documents on 1st February 2012. While we were waiting one period they worked on app for example on 23rd of January and the next week they showed that they work on app on 18th of January. My husband called them to see how is that possible. They told him that maybe they forgot some packages with app which had arrived earlier.

oh yeah, I remember that! Not fun when you see them going backwards after waiting for a week for the system to update! Fun times!

I have few questions:

1. Who are dependents? In one of forms for my wife says "dependents who are not accompanying you, but live with you". (Are these her Perents)
2. Application 008ENU_2D:

- question 11.
a) will accompany applicant to Canada (we put NO), but below question is confusing
b) reasons why dependent is non-accompanying


3. When I submit my application to office in Canada and when they approve me, does Canadian Embassy (Vienna) send application to her or she can print it from their website?

4. In one question they said to put all staff that she received as gifts. So how she is suppose to send let say BEAR toy that is half meter tall

5. In Document checklist say that my wife must submit 8 photos of herself and dependents who live with her. Is this 8 photos for every person that lives with her?
