How long does eCAS usually say "In Process?" ... Ottawa's wait time is sitting pretty at 16 months...
Lately, people have often been getting only about 2-3 weeks between In Process and Decision Made, sometimes even less.

About the 16 months, you have to remember that that is a more or less "worst case scenario." Everyone doesn't take that long by any means.

On the spreadsheet I see one person with DECISION MADE from January 2015 Application and another from October 2014. Did these individuals do something different.

The one from Oct actually submitted in Sept, but for some reason their ecas shows a late Oct date, so thats what they put on the spreadsheet. It's a little misleading for those of us waiting. As for the Jan applicant, none of us can figure out how or why Ottawa jumped that far out of queue. :-\

In reading the posts it looks like the person in January had a different situation. Has been married 8 years 2 children and been living in the US for the past number of years. The entire family is relocating to Canada. Both children have Canadian birth certificates.... I think that is probably why things moved so fast.

I am just recently married November 2014 and I know that I am going to be waiting a lot longer! Positive thinking!

I don't see how that would make a difference. I'm married now for 7.5 yrs and have a 6 yr old child with my husband, been living in the USA and provided pretty significant proof of intent to return to Canada, just short of signed lease or house purchase. We're still chilling in queue.

Even though she said her application was processed in Ottawa, it really feels like it stayed in Missassauga based on the timeline. Or they just got really lucky...

Mine won't be that fast, as they are waiting for my CSQ. I was being kinda lazy about applying for it since the wait time is forecasted to be so long… I was really surprised to get an email requesting it. Since I just BARELY applied for it (they haven't even hit my credit card yet) it'll be another 2-4 weeks until that's all done.

Still, gets me excited that it could be all processed and done with once they receive the CSQ. :)

This may be a really silly question but what is CSQ?
I paid the 550 for the sponsorship fee but I am not sure what the CSQ is

It has something to do with living in Quebec. If you're not destined for Quebec, then you won't be asked for one.

Certificat de sélection du Québec. Québec has their own little agreement with Canada that they get a say in who can immigrate to Québec. For family sponsorship, etc, they really can't do anything except make you sign a little agreement that says, in effect, "I'm coming to live in Québec and I want to learn French and integrate into a French society, and my kids will have to learn French."

For skilled workers, students, etc, they have more criteria like existing French skills, and they can make your visa contingent on taking French classes, but yeah.

Nope, it definitely went to Ottawa. I still don't know what "Decision Made" officially means... But if it is good news I am wondering if our situation (being together for 9 years, married for 7, 2 Canadian kids with proof of citizenship, no criminal records or health issues) and the fact that we got everything in and paid the fees upfront helped. We also had a signed lease agreement as our proof of intent.

I'm in Canada as a visitor now - I just hope they get our address change!

Good to hear Monstergirly! Good luck to you! My opinion is that the two Canadian kids helps - please they will need enough time to get ready for school in September!
