And just when I thought the VO had a problem only with me...

My medicals had passed successfully in 3 days from submission and the category was non-EDE/Worker. So I guess that works for some VOs. ::)
Really? Please Lord, connect me with a decent, reasonable VO!

Hi Asivad,

Welcome to the club... :)

do you have any smart advice on how to minimize the risk of being rejected for this reason?... I am wondering if we could get something solid from CIC, some written instructions or something, but there is no time for queries for some of us... :(

I thought that the VOs are getting involved only in very last stage of EE - PR, and that entire application is being processed by centralized office in Canada. Do you perhaps know in which stage are local VOs jumping in?

By VO, I meant the case officer assigned to your application. I still think that almost all EE applications are processed in Ottawa/NS with very few moving to the LVO (for reasons unknown yet).

I have no advice to avoid refusals except to possibly avoid casinos or the stock market for a while - don't squander your luck till you get your PR.

Guys....we don't need to panic as this situation seems to be with the visa officer who handles each individual's file.

Let's all hope it scales through and if not.....it's not the end of the world. We will definately have the option to send CSE and be in the pool again.

It clearly shows CIC is confused and they can't stick to their rules of medicals been used for a year irrespective of which class/category it is.

With that said....fingers crossed as mine and the kids are NON EDE/ Visitors and Spouse NON EDE/Student open to positivity though ;D

This doesnt mean much because I have read cases where Medicals pass, and later application is cancelled.

Here's another. This person has EDE-Family on his form. ??? ??? It's all a big mess. Alright. We could request inland applicants to call CIC and find out a solution to this.

Another EDE family

Did my medical in Belgrade in April... Physician never heard of Express Entry, and he selected Non-EDE/Worker for me, my wife and my 1.5y old son...

I can now see rejections for that specific category, and I am getting nervous... have 30 more days on my second ITA, and need to clear this mess ASAP...

Has anyone from inside Canada called CIC office and get confirmation? My physician is positive that medical type is irrelevant since it is same medical exam (501, 502,707, 712)...

This is what i think. The tests' types u did are the important thing not the category...

EDE-Family is for family class sponsorship. This does not apply to me. Non EDE-Worker makes most sense!

\
Do i need to check with Doctor or t is somewhere I can check online.

Please take a look at this.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/upfront-medical-for-dependent-after-ita-what-type-t345005.0.html;msg4571469#msg4571469

This person was rejected and he had Non-EDE worker as the category.

My point is, they do not have a standard. Each doctor uses his own category. Most of them get selected and a few, unfortunately, get rejected. :(

look in the proof of upfront medical that doctor gave you, without that your application could not have been submitted

I think the type of the test is more important than the category... does the refused person have the same test exactly?

1. I compare the forms, it shows Worker and Family have the same tests.
2. Also, I wonder if the principal applicant maybe worker and dependent or spouse will be family EDE.
3. I also call medical center out of Canada, they told me for immigration, family upfront medical type is the only choose. I guess this why a lot of people choose family. But for all who under Express entry already in Canada, it seems worker is more make sense. Just image you go to medical centre in Canada and ask for upfront medical, they ask you, are you for family union? of course not.

Just my points,

Still waiting for people who got pr to share their medical type.
