I applied for visitor visa along with my mother and sister to attend my cousin's wedding.
We also got invitation and wedding from him as well
My mother is Home maker and she was refused due to 179b that she is not financially established.
My sister was refused that she she gave limited employment opportunities in her home country
I was refused that I don't have strong ties outside Canada.
I attached all documents showing my job, father's business (he was not traveling with us)property and ties but still we all got refused.
Funds were sufficient to support all of us as I was financing.
What should be done?

you can reapply by addressing the issues highlighted by the visa officer
which country did you apply from and what is your timeline

I applied from Pakistan and timeline is first week of october
I attached all documents showing my ties and reason of travel including invitation letter and wedding card but still got refused.
Strange thing is that my mother is a housewife and have travelled US thrice and still she was refused too

when did u apply your visa? how long did it take to process?
what's is your and your sister's profile?
who are you visiting and for how long?

if your intended travel date was first week of Oct then you don't have much time left to apply again and get a visa within this time frame

I applied on 31 august got biometrics done 2 days after and got reply after 8 days of biometrics.
I applied with my mother and sister and we all got refused.
Sister is single and not employed

Right, but the thing is that we are genuine visitors and our refusals are very unjustifiable, I submitted cover letters mentioning every detail and genuine reasons to return to home country
My duration of visit was 12 days and my mother and sister's was 21 days
My aunt(mother's sister) invited us to visit her son's wedding

being single with no job or study enrollment is a weak profile
secondly three family members applying at the same time is also considered as negative
I suggest if it's very important for your family to go for this wedding maybe your mother could only reapply or with either of you siblings reapply
just a thought
if you all want to go then reapply with addressing the concerns very thoroughly
give logical reasons for you returning back, your mother not having her own funds as she is a dependent of your dad and your sisters current status and her future plans (maybe any study plans or job prospects)

That's actually what visa officer might have thought but the problem is that sister is currently enrolled in our civil services program for which she has to appear for an examination in February 2025 and my mother is dependent on me financially and my father is also dependent on me I am the one who is funding this trip I also attach my financial documents and every thing was mentioned in the cover letter which you just highlighted but it might have been ignore

Everything was mentioned in the visa application as well as cover letter.
All travel plan and ties, including my father as he was not traveling with us but still out refusals are very unjust

How old are you and your sister? If over 22, you are separate applications/accounts from your mother. If over 22, then each of you need to show your own bank accounts, ties to return, and travel history.
  • Father’s business is not a tie for any of you. It is not your business.
  • Property - Is it income property? Is it in your name’s only?
  • Ties: If you and your sister are single then you have no family ties to return to. Family ties are spouse and children. Your mother’s tie is her husband.
  • Funds: For mother, she must show her own funds and bank statements. She can show her husband’s personal bank statements. Same for your sister. Your funds are for you. They are not your dependants so they need to show their own bank statements.
  • Limited employment: What is your sister’s job and did she provide job letter with approved leave? Coming back in February 2025 is not good reason.
  • Length of visit - Too long for your sister and mother.
Overall your mother and sister’s profiles are weak as they are not showing their own funds, not strong ties to return, no jobs, and nothing in their names.

Unfortunately the application submitted was weak .
Countries set rules to be followed to get a visa . It’s not a right

Strengthen your applications and resubmit
Plus unfortunately visitors from Pakistan have been applying for asylum in Canada when they state they are genuine visitors and then they aren’t when they get here

I am 33 single and sister is 27 single. My mom and sister are both dependent on me and i provided my bank statement in support.
I applied as principal applicant.
My mother is 62 and a home maker, previously visited to US 3times and recent US visa expired in march 2024.
  1. Business is on father's name but i operate it and i have shown my self as managing director of the business.
  2. Property which i showed on my name is a personal residential plot.
  3. yes we both are single
  4. Sister is not employed but for her career she is pursuing civil services and examination will be held in February 2025 and for the admission and paper submission December 2024 is the deadline. For details i also mentioned the government's website in the cover letter for detailed view.

All three should apply the visa separately. Your sister's tie is weak mainly because she's unemployed. She's 27 and you are managing director of the business, why don't you give her and your mom (even if nominally) a job (even if it temporary) to earn a living?
