Do you guys think I have to send them an email notifying that I have applied for an extension of my study permit?

Or would it be better to not disturb them within 90 days as the email says?

In Canada , mailing by commercial courier is faster (i mailed by UPS). You'll celebrate in 2-3 weeks!

Ps. you don't have to drive to the border to get your visa active. Just phone and book an appointment to the local immigration office.

I don't think they need to know about you're renewing study/work permit. What you have to do is do whatever allow you stay in Canada till you get PR.

You have to notify Consulate when you change address, marriage status ..etc.

No one knows the real answer. But lots of people can not wait for 90 days including me.

As I said my file was transfered on September 8th an I haven't got any confirmation yet?

Regarding the FBI and Ploice clearance, do you think we need a new one or updated one? had anyone here submitted theirclearances both fbi and ploice topgether with their initial application? if so, do we need to get an updated one? the reason hy am asking is, because for fbi clearance it is taking so long so do you think we need to get updated ones?Thanks a lot

LA email the confirmation of receiving the application.

You can try emailing them. But i dont think they can do anything about it. It's your job to get a way to stay until your application approved.

Did yousubmit an updated police and fbi clearance? how long you had the clearances with them? was it already expired when they asked for your ppr? thannks

I submitted Police clearance since...August 2010. They didnt ask any update or new clearance. So i don't know for sure how it works.

LA email the confirmation of receiving the application.

Are here members who got a passport request without LA's confirmation regarding receiving the file?

I mean was there cases when LA skipped emailing a confirmation?

My file was also transferred to LA on Sept 8th 2011. When I look at eCas it is still showing 'application received'. Did medicals on April 28th. No notification that medicals have been received. Still showing old address although I emailed change of address to Buffalo (and now also to LA). Seems like online info is not up to date. Anyone else have that experience?

MY QUESTION IS: WHEN THEY ASK FOR YOUR PASSPORTS HOW MUCH TIME DO THEY GIVE FOR YOU TO SEND THEM TO THE CONSULATE OFFICE. I AM DUE TO TRAVEL QUITE A BIT OVERSEAS FOR WORK SOON AND WOULD BE GRATEFUL TO KNOW FROM PEOPLE EXACTLY WHAT THE LETTERS SAID AND HOW MUCH TIME WAS ALLOWED.

Hi,
My file was transfered to LA on September 8th. I applied through Manitoba PNP while I was under study permit. The study permit is valid till November 30th. I am afraid to get PR before my study permit will expire, otherwise I have go to Ukraine and have no ideas what would happen to my file. (I applied renewing it but it is the third time!!! They could refuse my request).

Do you guys think I have enough time to get PR until November 30?
