For in-canada applicants would be due to closure of seatle and detroit offices
For outside applicants delays could be due to processing of FSW back logs , december holidays and a pile of applications that came in through the hols ..
Hopefully , we get processed faster

The processing time went up coz CPP-O was processing the files transferred from Buffalo in the last 4-7 months and those files are almost reviewed as per cic website. We can expect the processing times to go down in future for sure...

Dear Friends,
Given the new processing times which has gone by one month that is New delhi , I was wandering how to they calculate the processing times. Do they start counting from the time it is received in CIO Nova Scotia or when it is received in the visa office (New Delhi).

Please advise if you have any answers.
It will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & With Best Regards

Hi gurdev1,

Can you please share the CIC link where it shows that the processing time starts from the time when CIO receives our application?

I was actually in an impression that the time starts from the date of AOR.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

I thought the processing times start from when the visa office receives file. This is what i saw written on CIC website:

"These processing times only apply to the federal part of the processing (at the visa office) once we have received the complete application. It does not include the time it takes for the province or territory to process the nomination certificate."

If someone knows otherwise, can you please share link. Thanks.

Hi Sarayu,
It is from the time they receive application not from AOR, The question is from when the processing times is counted or when it reaches the visa office, in may case it is New Delhi or the time they received CIO Nova Scotia on Nov 16 th 2013.

Thanks & Regards
RK

Well i think CIO is also a part of the federal process...they only indicated not to count time taken by Provinces to process Nominee certificates. So i think the processing times start from when CIO receives our application as is reflected on our first ecas update i.e "Applicaton received on blaa blaa blaa"

Hi,

CIC says applicants who applied to Seattle and Detroit, will now have their applications processed at NewYork and LosAngeles. Also FSW Backlog applicants, are getting refunds for their applications, I am one of them, only those who got nominated my a province, they said 600 people would be selected from each province (that was stated in their offer letter), would be processed Inland i.e by CPP-Ottawa or the VO responsible for their citizenship i.e country of birth. My application is being processed inland. They say they would fast track all 'FSW Pilot programs'. Also they are issuing OWP for certain 'PNP applicants' now. The bottom line is they are bringing in so many changes, I guess thats why the times have increased. Do not be disheartened by the wait times, there are a lot of applicants who have waited for almost 6 years now (FSW applicants), patience is the key and pray that all our files get picked up soon.
Last but now the least, this is the mail I received from CPP-O, it has some timelines, I do not know if its a generic email everyone gets but its something at least:

Your file has been transferred to this office in Ottawa for processing. It will be reviewed by one of our officers, with priority given to applications that were received at CIC before 1 September 2011.

How long will it take until I am likely to be contacted and/or updated by the Case Processing Office in Ottawa?
